ISFJ Personality Type in a Nutshell 

I envy my ISFJ friend-she buys groceries every Sunday and makes herself food for the week (somehow she enjoys eating the same thing every day, which amazes me-if only I could be that efficient). She also gets excited about couponing, soft sheets, nice-smelling soap, and making quilts. She always feeds me when I visit and she dreams of being a housewife. I affectionately joke that she’s the “grandma friend” and we’re lucky to be living in the world with people like her :). (INTJ)

Routine. This definition defines the isfj. I can go one year with no difficult doing the same routine, as long as it has some simples things I enjoy.

ISFJ's are hilarious. It's like a cat just doing the same thing over and over and they're just like "Life's great, yaay.."

I adore ISFJs, my sister and mom are ISFJs and they are the most amazing people I’ve ever met, they get overlooked in the MBTI community

For ISFJs, routine is comforting. We spend so much mental power processing and categorizing new input that it's nice to turn off our brains with routines. Also, don't mistake us for pushovers. Once we give our loyalty to a person or principle we will fight to defend it. That's why ISFJs need to be careful with who and what they give their loyalty to. The need to employ their Ti and Fe functions to evaluate new situations and reevaluate current loyalties.

As an ISFJ, I stick to routine and when it goes out of my plans, it takes a while for me to adjust. My niceness has been mistaken for flirting loads of times. I’m just really sweet and very friendly. I also really dislike change (trying to work on that). I’m also a big helper but I learnt rather quickly and painfully that you can’t help everyone. Oh well... would be nice to meet a fellow ISFJ like me.

I am ISFJ. For me, I don’t like surprise lol and I like to things as a routine. It makes me feel comfortable so if something is changed it’ll effect my day( might be in good or bad). Also, Eating the same thing all week or watch same movies and listen to the same playlist for months, are Normal for me haha. 😇🤣

ISFJ here. It's a hard path learning how to express your grudges, because I tend to keep the things that bother me for myself. I always go for helping and supporting people, taking care of their feelings and I think that's a nice trait of mine when I do it with the right person. Somehow very sociable and easy-going, but often anxious and low self-esteemed. I seek silence, peace and comfort. I dream becoming an architect, even if it's not a stereotipically suitable job for my personality. I think sometimes that being a male and an isfj at the same time makes me unattractive, just because I'm softer but I need to learn living with it and loving myself

My grandmother was an ISFJ. Everyone should have an ISFJ grandmother, like mine. My brother and sister are ISFJ. It’s true they stick to the same routines. Brother eats the same food and breakfast all the time. Sister can watch the same shows over and over like the Office. When they’re working on something, they do it alone quietly

What’s interesting is that although my ISFJ mum doesn’t welcome changes in her life, she encourages me to make changes and have new experiences in life. She said I’m still young and I can learn a lot from these experiences.

I just recently took a personality type quiz and I found out that I'm an ISFJ, and so many of these traits are literally me😅. I'm always observing the world and following a daily routine, I even tend to eat the same food for days at a time because it just works for me! I also really dislike surprises and don't like being the center of attention.

Im an isfj and what I hate about it is respecting rude people because I focus on being good to them rather than putting them at their place! Some people DONT DESERVE the good isfj people give naturally.

As an INTJ, i see isfj as the lawful good side that is underrated like really underrated maybe because theyre the backbone of our society

As an ISFJ, when life is changing a lot, it's like someone is holding a metal pan lid next to my face and repeatedly bashing it with a metal spoon, over and over, without pausing. Once I can begin to see a pattern, carve out a routine, and reduce the uncertainty, it's like stopping the lid-bashing, or at least slowing down its cadence. Then I can start to think clearly and see clearly and breathe for the first time after a major, sustained assault on the senses. It's why I almost never travel, and I try to keep day-to-day life as mellow and repetitive as possible; then, I can absorb little changes when they pop up and even enjoy happy surprises when they occur.

Yesterday i took a personality test and discovered that i'm an ISFJ! ISFJ's are my favourite personality types. The video was too relatable i do like helping others i like have a daily routine to keep me functional. I like doing/repeating the same routine over and over again and if there is even one slightest change in my routine i will not be able to accept it or be comfortable with it! I incredibly resent change because people like to change things that don't even need change when its already perfect! I'm very shy and quiet i prefer to blend into the shadows/background. I loathe the spotlight i dislike attention but i do want to be heard. For me routine is everything i love and i'm not ashamed of it! I am incredibly sensitive to criticism and discrimination and hate. For me i take criticism to the heart and even though i try not to it still hurts. When i was younger about 5 or 6 years ago when i first encountered my first bully i wouldn't even be able to breathe without one person criticising me for anything! It takes me a from weeks or months to overcome bullying and criticism etc.

My best friend is an ISFJ and he just goes on about how his multiple girlfriends have cheated on him. As an INTP, I can see disaster from light years away, but I guess ISFJs having inferior Ne and higher functioning Si and Fe makes them focus way too much on what works for themselves and the tribe.

ENFP here with an ISFJ partner. They may appear weak because of their humbleness and kindness. But trust me they are one of the strongest people in the world. They can handle everything and still functions well even if they are stress. I love this mbti types♥️

I'm an INFJ and I have an ISFJ friend in my circle. In terms of social responsibilities, I can relate to him because we have the same Fe (extroverted feeling) as our 2nd function like we will make sure to tend others' welfare first and be careful at things so that other ppl won't get hurt but when it comes to social interaction, he is very timid and shy and very soft than us girls (worries us sometimes). He loves to offer help eveytime and give gifts wholeheartedly when he can while here we are, his friends, reminding him of limiting his kindness.

As an intp, i would say i barely move on from heartbreaking issue too. I mean it's easy to know where to go next, but it's hard to leave, there is strong familiarity in there. I guest i am in the Ti Si loop. If it's hard time, it's extremely hard to go to places where the impression stay there. I tend to listen to same playlist over" again for months. Listen to one song 500 times. This Si thing comes out strong in me. This is why i suspect myself as isfj but i more into intp.

Funny how so many ISFJs mistype as ESFJ, ISTJ, INFJ, INTJ and even ESTJ when they improve their functions and break out of the stereotype. My higher up boss is a clear ISFJ who told me he was an ISTJ with an almost 50/50 I/E score on 16p and I can see how he tested to see if the could "ESTJ" by regulating harder.. but aux Se then making him feel bad 🤣

I've been reading many comments from fellow ISFJs who have found the routine part the most relatable, so I thought it would be interesting if I popped in here and countered that. From Si in my life (because Si is a subjective function) routine has found itself to be a drag, something to be resented by myself, actually. When I do it my mind blanks off and it feel like I space out and I'm not in tune with my own body, which makes me feel very uncomfortable (haha, inf Ne). My Si usually just manifests in my interests. It also helps me choose what I want to do or not, and it feel like it just pops in when I get so bored. Especially while doing a routine. During the routine my Si isn't fed with what it wants, what it's comforted by. My Si isn't fueled by it, which is why I act upon it (of course, because it's my dominant function). Being traditional and conventional are two different things. I believe more conventional people are ones who follow trends and join the status quo. So ISFJs are ones who go along with whatever is current and popular.

huh i always get ISFJ but some things just don't add up. Like a do have a routine of sorts but it varies in the week to the weekend. And i never awake up straight away i struggle to get up so one day it might be 7.30 another it could be 7.50 etc. However i always always always do my skin care no matter what (well unless i'm ill then i might skip it). I don't know sometimes i thing MBTI is actually to simple and it needs to be expanded.

He didn't practice his shield throwing in a controlled environment (Si+Ti), he discovered it himself in the heat of battle (Se+Ti).
