Their are 2 different "ropes". The end of the rope as it rises has 3 loose strings and when it goes into the basket their isn't also he rolls it around the edges of the basket so the hard rope can go straight up the middle its a hard pole inside a rope hence why the rope is so thick. someone is placed under the basket opens the hole at the bottom of basket and stage and pushes hard rope up. the hard rope is most likely 2 or more pieces so it can fit under the stage.
Decent theory, but wouldnt that make a good amount of noise? Like probably more than what his rattle thing covers up. Air compressors are loud, and it would have to be pretty damn powerful to hold a child like that. Maybe if the rope was shorter, but with a 15-20 ft tall rope to have such a strong base would require a lot of air pressure (and a lot of noise) otherwise it would just bend or kink.
Here is an explanation as to how it’s done, if not using a hidden door beneath the stage as in this one. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-cmi8C4CJ5zk.htmlsi=hp8XZSpup3EPGBh8
The rope is stitched rather than wrapped. The rope has a tube in it sealed at one end. We are shown the empty basket. Then he places his arm in the basket as he coils the rope into the basket. A small battery powered air pump pumps a gas into the tube which inflates the rope providing tensile strength and elevation as the gas is lighter than air. When he releases the rope he places his hand into the basket activating the release valve.
He did not invent this , ABSSOLUTE NONSENSE, Indian Rope trick has been mentioned in ancient Vedas, and Adi Shankara quotes this in context of Illusion, God and Doer.
why no color? it is new magic ,not old magic。someone hide in stage 。the sound is tell the hide man "let rope up" the real rope magic don't need the sound
Excuse me, you call this a "Decent theory" ?. Oh, come on . . . this is not even a theory but just a bunch of nonsense; and this is not a lack of respect to that person, but only the truth. This apparent simple magic trick holds a secret so much deeper. Not for nothing, has already lasted for more than 100 years !. Cheers, John.
Ah, but the stage only appears to be 3 feet high. There might be a hole in the ground where the stage was put on. The guy could even be in the sewers (don't know if they have sewers in India, though).
The stage conceals a sewer manhole with the second "climbing rope" raised by a hidden assistant. The coiled rope is only to divert attention to the fact that the hollow "climbing rope" uses a rod raised up through it. The rod is kept from slipping back down due to the child's weight by use of a secured short length of rope wrapped around the rod to form a Friction Hitch. The collapse of the "climbing rope" is accomplished by loosening the Friction Hitch wraps to allow the rod to free fall.
