They're just not MMA fans, they just stick to this mindset where stand fighting always the best and entertaining for them. when it comes to ground game like Wrestling and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu they're just blank about it, and think its boring because of less damage to the opponent or no blood pouring out on the ground where u dont hit much, bla bla bla bruh.. these guys dont know its all war fight standing or on the ground. I like how you can watch this match and totally not feel like Poirier was "Defeated" he did lose, but he was not defeated, and that's for twp reasons, Poirier put a lotta heart into it, and Islam fought him with a lot of respect.
This fight prove the two is great fighter. I ever thought that Islam hasn't been really tested in a gruelling fight...and Dustin not good enough in grapling but this fight proved me wrong.
That Dustin could’ve easily have beaten oliveira, if only he put in the same camp he would’ve been champ, nevertheless a high level fighter who gained enormous respect

Dustin in a standing fight is difficult to beat, these Russians only get their way with their grappling technique and tricks. Dustin Poirier is the best fighter with honor until the last moment....
You definitely did not watch the fight. He was mixing up his combos in par if not better than Dustin. And Dustin specializes in boxing, he just happens to have more power.
