Also, your ferro rod demonstration was great. Good job not taking the easy way out. LOL I could hear the “In your face” without you actually saying it. Also…love the drone footage. Net trip & beautiful sites. I'm planning on kayak camping there next month. A little tip with the fire starter... hold the striker/knife steady & pull the rod back. That way you're not knocking your tinder pile over. You can get a lot more aggressive & throw some fatter sparks that way.

17:00 making a primitive fire is a skill I need to develop. I don't often build a fire when I'm camping because most of my adventures thus far have been backpacking with bigger miles. By the end of the day, I'm too tired to bother with it. I boil water on my small backpacking stove, eat, and crash for the night. I typically carry some cotton balls or laundry lint to serve as easy dry material to get a flame going, but I have never even tried to start a fire from a spark like that. Honestly, I didn't think you were going to be able to do it without leaves or pine needles. I learned something! Haha.
