Luke this is my old account but you should come fishing with me and my dad at our secret spot we catch kingfish,salmon and bonito my biggest fish from our secret spot is a 80cm kingfish and the funnest fish was a kingfish I lost on my ultra light rod for live yakkas for the kingfish and it is Land based and I’m a big fan congrats on your catch see ya
If you kept the head then you should 100% get the jewels out of it before you use it for bait. THEY ARE FISHERMANS GOOD LUCK ! It's basically a pearl that is located inside the skull, there's two in every mullaway

I think you should try to meet up with locals (like this episode) or go to local fishing and diving stores and ask for advice. I can’t stress it enough get local advice not from some bcf or something LOCAL SHOPS
Awesome video as always. A tip when skinning your fillets, don’t use the knife in a sawing action. Keep the knife flat and still and pull the skin onto the blade. That way you won’t cut the skin or leave any skin on your fillet.
How good are circle hooks bro, like I’ve commented before I catch all my big fish with live bait a running sinker and a 4/0 circle hook, they hook up almost all the time in the corner of the mouth. Cheering you finally got a Jewie mate 👌
Try catch a mulloway off the beach. The ones of the beach can get up to 10+ kg. There’s some good spots along white hills beach, Preston beach, Swan river and the Murchison river in Kalbarri. Though you will need a longer rod preferably a 12 foot rod and bigger baits.
luke just a tip with your live baits hook hem through the bottom of the lip and through the top lip it helps keep the live bait fresh and jewfish always hit from the front of the bait
amazing video but if or when you go to south Australia you should try to go inside the Coorong and maybe camp there the amount of mulloway in there is insane especially during summer months

tip- you have to adjust the weight of the jig- you went much too heavy- if you take lighter jigs, you ll have sink-phase, whats important. otherwise you too fast or drag bottom... good rule is a 3 sec sink rate -- that means when you let your jig sink to the bottom and do 2 turns of the reel handle without any rod movement -- then count 1, 2, 3 , and it should be again down to bottom-- you get it ? this technique is called laze in german "faulenzen".. ;-) best regards from germany , petri-- fabian
slow sink phase i meant-- and its just a basic rule, the laze with 3 sec (zander fishing) -- sometimes you have to go heavy and fast-- in ocean 4 example. in muddy rivers try slow--you ll get rewarded , i swear u . greetings to ur fam
zander is bottom predator in europe ... you can look it up -- "Zanderkant"- they are pro guides here , explaining this technique and others in german- you can push the translate button here to get it
Blend the bread crumbs. Becomes more finer and comes out like perfect schnitzels. Also i worked at a fish shop for a while and you'd get 7 days easy in the fridge.

That's a small Jew by standards , my biggest went 28kg on average 10kg above when you chase them with the right bait and area... Get the jewels out of there heads as well always a cool little thing to hang onto... And depends on what current is doing as to where and how you hook up live bait...
