Retired Chamorro Army Lieutenant Colonel here, now living in Virginia. This was an AWESOME public affairs video Maj. Fisher. Thanks for promoting a major part of the Chamorro culture ("delicious food") during your tour on the island. And, as one who grew up on Guam with a Chamorro mother and haole father from Minnesota, I hope you thoroughly enjoyed your tour on Guam back in 2014.
If you're stranded on the big island (the states), you can buy a tortilla press at a Mexican store. My sister makes about 50 at a time. They don't last long.
I always use diced chicken, bell pepper, onions and celery. Also, I make my chalakiles from scratch, toasting and grinding the rice. There's a big difference in flavor.
