1:37 Man, I remember this was the first soundtrack I heard when I first entered Watatsumi Island by boat during sunset; the vibrancy of the blue and pink, Kokomi’s residence, the waterfalls, and especially the visual of the island itself on the map were all so visually breathtaking!
same, this played when i passed through the gate and saw for the first time the sangonomiya shrine standing beautifully above the shining blue haze at night. I swear that was one of my best experiences in genshin till now
I love that each island has a unique spin on the Inazuma leitmotif, signifying that even though each of them can be drastically different, they are still proudly part of the Nation of Eternity.
@@juanalmeida217 I know what it means, I just wondered that it's so similar as a word between English and German, well, a lot and I mean a lot of words are similar from German to English and vice versa, but technical terms sometimes tend to differ, so it was a bit unexpected to see such a "close-to-german" word
@@kingjulian1202 English steals words from all sorts of languages, but its actually a germanic language so its pretty normal for it to have plenty of shared words (or word roots I guess?). I'm a native french speaker so I mostly notice the words it takes from there before the pronounciation is butchered beyond recognition (corduroy, verdegris, etc.).
I'm so glad ruu's song was in my teapot salesman stash. I put it there as music and especially at night you just stop whatever you're doing and get emotional (tho i have to say I didn't find ruu's quest sad at all) but the song itself I find very touching without thinking of the background to it. i just wish to have the fading memories track in the teapot :/ but yet....nothing uhuhu
40:59 i remembered the first time i entered tsurumi, at first i just wanted to explore but then i was curious about its story because i could feel the tragedy and sadness involved only with this song
Same, this ost and ruu's song really hit me different, I feel so lost and sad and lonely... After I finished the quest I always hold back my tears becuz every I enter the island
imagine... You are currently in the room.. with a silent night,You opened your window blinds and looked up at the night sky. . Then you hear the sound...Until you feel a comfortable and sad atmosphere🍂
Watatsumi island has been my favorite place to relax. The music is just so soothing for my ears especially 8:12 (Stories Untold) idk why but it has a special place in my heart.
Hello, same. Stories Untold is also my favorite track from Watatsumi. I like listening to it while gliding down the corals. The way I would describe it is very ethereal, a little hopeful and slightly haunting. It’s written in Lydian mode, which in my opinion, evokes a floaty type of feeling. It’s actually quite similar to a track from Enkanomiya called Pathway to the Hidden Isles, which plays in The Serpent’s Bowels. In contrast, Pathway to the Hidden Isles sounds like a sad and desolate version of this track. I think they might have made the music and the title that way on purpose because beneath the hopeful island of Watatsumi lies the hidden tale of a former civilization.
Same, Stories Untold and Kokomi demo theme always make me feel so lost in thoughts, emotional and a little bit existential. Whole Watatsumi is so bittersweet. Really Want Stories Untold on my teapot! Edit: I'm so sad it is not available on teapot
Genshin's OST never fails to blow me away. Even back in 2020 when I first started playing and wasn't sure if it was something I wanted to continue, the soundtrack just completely enamored me. Now here I am, almost two years later, and I keep finding reasons to fall back in love with the game.
The moment I stepped in Watasumi Island and heard the first soundtrack, I stood there looking at the environment for the first time. It really felt like home, for a moment it felt like home more than Monstadt. It’s so beautiful there, it’s like my peaceful place of all Inazuma for me :)
Does anyone else get serious goosebumps at Ruu's Melody? Just after knowing all that happened? As soon as the first 'la' hits me all the hairs on my arm stand up.
First time I heard Fading Memories (40:59) in game I had to stop what I was doing and just listen to the song. Then I started crying while in a Discord call and worried all my friends lmao
I've always been stopping whatever I'm doing whenever my fav track is playing... Dragonspine, Tsurumi, Watatsumi islands... Enkanomiya... Claiming that they do amazing job will never be enough.💜
31:47 hits me hard right in the feels. I mean.. just by listening to the music and looking around Tsurumi Island, you can just imagine that whatever this island has gone through, it's just... tragic and sad. Remember, Tsurumi Island used to be filled with a lot of people, and now.. no one lives there anymore. This music literally shows and depicts about what had happened to Tsurumi Island.
33:55 Sorrows of Strays my absolute favorite piece in the entire game. The flute conveys so much grief, especially in the later part where it cries out in pure, raw anguish. The background melody keeps going at its drowning pace like a harsh reminder of time moving ever onward, that nothing will make past events undone. What a masterpiece.
my favs Desire for Calm - 19:44 Stories Untold 8:12 Contemplation on Eternity 29:13 Misty Truth 36:13 In a Harmonious Atmosphere 6:34 What Now Remains 10:34 Sorrows of Strays 33:55
Exploring Tsurumi Island was phenomenal. All the tracks perfectly suits the atmosphere as you slowly uncover the mysteries behind the terrible tragedy that befalls on this island. And then there's ruu's theme...
40:59 this one made me think back about traveler's journey. what we got and what we lost. i still can't help but cry when rmb what happened to teppei. no matter how many people the traveler had encountered, teppei will always live rent free inside the traveler's heart
They've really done an amazing job with Tsurumi island's soundtrack (37:04, 39:00, 40:59), you can really feel the sadness, hopelessness, the depressing atmosphere of the island weighing on you... Ruu's story made me so sad, I hope we can meet him again and maybe bring him on a journey with us in the future.
20:30 One time I was doing a commission in Seirai, this part played and I just stopped to listen to it because it was so beautiful. Yu Peng Chen never disappoints
Strangely, Yu-Peng Chen isn't mentioned anywhere on this Collection/Album OST. This time the credit goes to the HoYo-Mix team and the Japanese Partners mentioned in the Description. I guess Master Yu-Peng Chen works primarily on the Major Region soundtracks/OST (Mondstadt, Liyue, Inazuma etc)
@@Eltonm28 he is part of hoyomix and he is the main composer of all of the scores in the game, although nowadays he no longer does music for demos and focuses his attentions on in-game ost instead
@@Eltonm28 So I was curious about this as well, and I searched for a few online Chinese music publishing website on this newly released OST. I found out that the composer of this, along with a few older albums all has YuPeng Chen in it. There are usually 3-4 composers for these albums and He is the only constant appearance so I guess they are all from Hoyomix, with Chen being the lead composer of anything genshin related.
13:58 will always and forever remain my top favourite out of every single ost in the game. I cant explain it. But it is. Especially listening to it while walking in the rain.
Every single track on this album is absolutely breathtaking and just plays the scenes of the game right back into my head. 😍 Being able to hear the music on its own is a whole new perspective.
It's nice to understand the message of the music ranging from the thunderous imposing super Japanese music of Inazuma and the calm music and to understand that in Watasumi you are in the place where the traveler is finally at peace. and it is where hope is still maintained
Watatsumi Island has some of the best music in the game, imo. It's so tranquil and invokes that peaceful sense of wonder I get just from exploring and being pulled in by the beautiful scenery and design in this game.
I heard ruu’s melody for the first time. I have no knowledge about him since I’m only a genshin enjoyer without playing the game but when I heard it, I wanted to cry. I don’t know why but it felt like that.
Tsurumi Island is my favorite of the islands of Inazuma, I LOVE EVERY SINGLE TRACK OF THIS ISLAND. I even have the peak of the island labeled as Home, bc I often put a teleport waypoint there to listen to the music and look at the stars at night ;w;
Illuminated Coral Palace (1:37) combined with waterfalls and landscape of watatsumi island, oh man I still remember that feeling... on the other hand Walking a Pathless Path (39:01) feels underrated, the piano makes it so eerie and pleasant to hear
This place feels soo different than the rest of Inazuma. You can really tell of its own culture and sense of independence. Very peaceful and beautiful music for the Inazuma rebellion ;]
I don't understand how the music stays this good if not better. Thank you for creating such a beautiful soundtrack. Still my favorite game. Best of wishes many years to come. The awards and nominations will head your way again in 2022 :)
I was crying and panicking because ill have an oral recitation which serves as my exam and I am scared to embarrass myself infront of the class but then I came across this and it calmed me down. ILL BE BACK LATER TO SEE HOW I WILL DO
Everytime I go to Tsurumi Island and this song @42:30 plays, I literally stop what I am doing just to listen and reminisce the time I spent with Ruu together. Ever since getting the feather gadget, it was mostly equipped, everywhere I go (though sometimes, I need to swpap it out like in the underground mines of the chasm). I am meeting diffetent people (NPCs) , eating different dishes & exploring new places. I did promise to Ruu that we will go adventuring all over Teyvat afterall.
Listening to Fading memories gives me goosebumps, it gives a somewhat sad atmosphere, but then following up with A memorable fancy makes me have a nostalgic and emotional feeling. Genshin soundtracks are and they will always be beautiful uwu
8:12 i have been waiting for hoyoverse to officially release this part of the OST for so long, god i love this song, it's my personal favourite of the Watatsumi Island track
I feel like Genshin's music just fits the atmosphere of the places so well in a different way from any other games i've seen. It somehow describes a place, a feeling and a story all at the same time. They match and combine so well together it's actually crazy.
Last 2 songs are and always will be my favourite (until Hoyomix comes up with something even more emotionally moving). I'll show you the world, Ruu. I promise.
i remember going to sangonomiya island for the very first time and being completely struck with its visuals. i had never been to an open world game with such beautiful visuals. and then the ost hit me harder. it was just too good i had to sit there a minute and listen. thank you hoyoverse for such amazing content. i wish it’ll last forever!
I first reached the island when it released and the first song was playing, it literally took my breath away for a second. I get teary and I get goosebumps when that plays and when I see Sangonomiya shrine, I'd move there and swim all day 😂
the last three tracks always give me goosebumps and make me a bit teary eyed, hard to explain but sometimes I feel like I'm standing infront of building, the sun rising(or falling, it depends) fire all around.. basically, the apocalypse but its a beautiful and nostalgic end.
42:30 Imagine this song played at an anime's ending when the MC and heroine get married after all the journey they went through, feels soothing cuz they live happily and other side feels sad because your favourite anime reach the end
This will always be my favorite compilation of soundtracks. A bit of nostalgia, sadness, calmness and sorrow is what brings this whole thing together. Thank you, Genshin.
I love how everyone of this totally encapsulate the vibes that their islands have I can't be paid to go to tsurumi island again because of the tragedy not just from the story but from the ost
