THE ISLE OF MUCK COACHING COURSE - SCOTLAND
Muck is a small and remote island on the west coast of Scotland and was the venue for our Scotland Coaching trip. Muck together with its neighbours, Eigg, Rum and Canna, form the Small Isles. Getting there is a 2 hour ferry from Mallaig on the mainland - quite an adventure
The island is two miles long by one mile wide with a population of 38 people.
Our aim was to provide an enjoyable wilderness sea kayaking trip and guide paddlers to gain essential kayak skills on moving water, rescue skills, planning navigation and judgement skills.
There were opportunities to explore the small and sheltered island of Muck in a relaxed and fun way, with flexible time off to enjoy the culture of remote island life. One of the highlights was the crossing over to explore the neighbouring Isle of Eigg.
Whilst we could not control the weather, we made the very best of whatever was thrown at us.
