Isle of Vallay (Outer Hebrides) to Griminish Harbour (Isle of North Uist) 

Vallay is an uninhabited island, but is mentioned in my book "Bulldog Five" (available from Amazon) as the ruined mansion opposite Griminish.
Vallay House was built in around 1902 for the famous archaeologist and photographer - Erskine Beveridge He died in 1920 passing it onto his son who sadly died crossing to the island in 1944.
