Great video! That intro perfectly sums up how I (and everyone in my family ever, from my parents to my sister) have gotten into new hobbies! Bless everyone who caters to the eager new hobbyist who says, "Guess what I got? Look what I found! This will be perfect for storing this or that! Look what so-in so gave me!" Great work as always Nanette and Wally!
Thank you! Nanette is such a trouper. And great point about supporting the new hobbyist. It doesn't matter if it's beanie babies or isopods or geckos :)
I love the introduction. I started with Isopods as a clean up crew. But keeping the cultures for use in the tanks, slowly added new Isopod cultures for different bio-activity environments. After 5 or 6 cultures they became more pets then just a cleanup crew. Thanks for the feeding info, I am always looking to what adjustments can benefit my animals.
your intros with Nanette always make me smile :-) you two are so cute together! super glad to know what you feed your pods as I'm trying to keep mine on a varied diet, so the new ideas are helpful kind of related but in the reverse: can isopods be used in place of feeder insects like crickets? do you know of any animals which especially like eating isopods?
Thank you. We really do have as much fun as you see in the videos. She is so good with this. Very glad to help with the foods. I can only speak on the animals I have. Geckos are a bit wishywashy on them :) Sometimes they take them but not always. It's not a great feeding response. HOWEVER, for my tiny geckos, they LOVE dwarf whites.
That intro was absolutely HILARIOUS. This channel has made me laugh like 10x more than most of RU-vidrs that I watch. Speaking of 10x, I’m going to be buying some S.I.C 10x for my Zebras soon!
😂I lost it when you said, Excel spreadsheets! The cows love pumpkin goop! We will be getting out the Halloween 🎃 decor this weekend, we are hardcore. Great video you 2. Almost at 8K subscribers, we are happy to support you!
I love these type of intros from you. I know how that is. I started with orange koi scaber, now I have white outs, lotto mix, rubber duckies, and p. Pruinosus. I want more but my husband would kill me. I do want Armadillidium sometime. This video really gave me a lot more food variety that I didn't think about.
wow I loved the beginning of this video lmao it was great .. this video was so full of information its a great help thank you for sharing and your buy me a coffee site is so awesome .. Guys Please keep these amazing videos come
Thank you Andrew. I appreciate the support and very kind words. This video was supposed to be 45 second intro and 4 or 5 min. on the foods. ;) I blame the length on Nanette, she wouldn't stop blabbing!
@@SupremeGecko lmao Nanette rocked in this video you both did I just loved the comedy aspect of it and how you turned it in to an educational video this right here is why you guys have favorite channel on RU-vid
That’s so cool! I’ve been working on a spreadsheet to track all my species. I have barcodes that work with VLookup to show info about the container like humidity and temperature
Dooooh! You are the first person to catch that!!! I really thoght I could sneak that one through. Did you see my trying to hold back a bit... "Walked through 2 feet of snow... and STUFF" WHAT!!!???!!! :)
Literally how every animal hobby starts😂 Been watching you for a while and this is my first time commenting. Love your channel. I actually have a question as well. I’m wondering if after several generations of isopods breeding amongst each other will inbreeding become a problem? I got some dairy cows not too long ago and was wondering if I would eventually see negative effects after several generations?
Nihil, thank you so very much for taking the time to comment. This builds up this wonderful community. And thank you for the kind words. I am under the though that it really would take many many many generations to have any impact on the genetics. The lower the life form, usually the less in-breeding has on the organism... usually.
I also laugh when I hear zucchini. My Isopods will completely refuse zucchini. Anything else they'll devour, but zucchini or cucumber just doesn't seem to be a crowd pleaser lol.
@@SupremeGecko They'll go crazy over things like squash, carrots, and broccoli with some occasional fish flakes and gecko shed. My isopods are all wild-type Armadilidium vulgares currently.
I feed a full Buffett like thanksgiving each week. Loads of mancae. Now where to sell babies. I’m in a wheelchair so can’t do reptile shows. Ebay is so slow.
