I am a Water Treatment Specialist I have some helpful hints that I learned to help make your job easier 1st you can use your bucket as a table and lay the system on it's back on top of the bucket then crack open each canister or stage 1,2,3 saving you time and water spills on the floor then you can replace the filters & then tighten each one . 2nd A very important step that needs to be done when is you're flushing filter stage #5 you have to flush it separately into a bucket as well to remove all the carbon dust from that (Taste & Odor filter) before you reconnect it to stage #6 which is the Alkaline filter if you don't do that step/process then you have just contaminated your Alkaline filter with black carbon dust not good or healthy for you. It's ok to flush out filter #5 & filter #6 separately to make sure everything is flushed out and clean before you turn the system back on for regular use . That is why your Alkaline filter looks dark at the end of your video . I hope this helps everyone !
Hello Win, thank you for your comment, and I'm glad my video was able to help you with your replacement, from time to time I do videos of repair and maintenance, if my content that I do interest you, would greatly appreciate if you want to subscribe to my channel. Thanks again, I am planning to do a video on how to replace the membrane soon.
Thank you very much for this tutorial. I'm in Reno, Nevada with my dad who currently has late stage ALS. He can't use his hands or communicate with his voice anymore. He has been a handyman his whole life coming from Scotland. Needless to say I am too to an extent but not like him. We watched this tutorial together and were able to change the filter bc of how clear and concise it is with direction. I personally appreciate that it wasn't a super long video. We got our filter replaced and running first try with this video. I am currently running the third tank per your direction!💧
Suggestion - if you have a hard time seeing water show up on white paper towels, lay some blue shop towels down instead. When water touches the blue shop towel it turns a very dark blue and is easily seen.
Mine has a motor and pump and makes all kinds of noises from time to time. Since all that electronics is somewhat in the way, I can't get to the output of the Stage 3 filter as easily when I want to flush Stages 1 through 3, plus when I disconnect, the hose will be too short to reach to a bucket. Where to you buy the firm 1/4 inch tubing 21:54 so that the push on and clips will connect correctly (and no leaks!) for flushing? 🙂
When you bleed the red tube for the first time after installing your new stage 1,2,3 it's basically pushing all the carbon dust and black particles out so it doesn't clog up your membrane quicker therefore membrane will fail prematurely, doing this step will save your membrane from having to replace sooner. If you hire someone to replace these for you, they usually don't do this step, hence they will be called back sooner to replace the membrane so, in my perspective bleeding the first 3 stage in vital in my opinion.
Its on correctly rewind and watch it again, there are also arrows on the filter itself. Thanks for watching. If you like my content hit the like and subscribe.
