I honestly think the lead up to the fight effected izzy also. Sean verbally bullied him and it was hard to watch. Izzy was right to me as a fan that fight was a bad dream. Mostly cause I expected izzy to piece him up.
True. I expected Izzy to enter that same state he did when he was losing to Gastellum, but nothing. Like his body gave up and he was a fish out of water
@@samuelhunter4631the difference is he was on his backfoot the whole fight and sean doesn’t overextend like gastelum(or whitaker, pereira and costa). He is a pressure fighter and he basically nullified izzy completely who is more of a counterstriker. Sean won fair and square.
Teddy Atlas "Adesanya wasn't as Bruce Lee-like as he normally is." That's why Izzy is one of my favorite fighters, because he uses alot of stuff Bruce Lee talked about HOWEVER in this fight, Sean was doing something Bruce had mentioned: "The best defense, is a defensive offense." Stricklad was coming forward with constant pressure and offense, while maintaining a strong defense. Tough to deal with!
He's Bruce Lee because he's a counter fighter. He got content in countering everyone as the champ instead of pressure like his kickboxing fights and early mma fights.
@@DwarfDt yeah Bruce did say that the counter fighter has the advantage. Because in order to attack your opponent, you have to get close enough for them to intercept or counter you. But he also said you can't only counterfight and you need to be able to lead. Tho I understand him getting the belt and being more hesitant to take risks and lose it; but that's a criticism alot of MMA fans have of him and it's understandable
@@etiennebunbury1285 I commented this on another video as well and no Izzy didn't say this...he said Sean had good offense and defense, he didn't relate it to something Bruce Lee said like I had. He didn't say Sean had a "defensive offense" and I can comment what I think about their fight if I like tyvm, it really shouldn't bother anyone
Izzy was fighting Sean Strickland, Sean Strickland was also fighting Sean Strickland. The fight was a man with nothing more to prove vs a man with everything to prove to himself. Sean disbelief in himself and his determination to prove it to himself willed him to win this fight. Izzy got a bit comfortable, especially riding off the high of finishing Poa when Poa dispatched Strickland rather quickly
@@thizzlemetimbrs8194yea it’s no response because it’s so f…ing stupid you bots bring it up it has nothing to do with the fight game literally it’s relevance towards him an him being a fighter is zero it doesn’t even correlate at all Izzy is a fighter a warrior we look at his story as REAL fight fans we could care less about his personal life as long as he’s in good health that’s what you NO LIFE bots do to try to discredit his accolades
I like Izzy but I was a bit disappointed in rounds 4/5. You knew you were down 3-0 and you never went for it, you were always on the back foot. Never pushed him at all and put yourself at any risk.
U heard him say he wasn't feeling well in the fight.. that fight reminds me 9f Usman Vs Woodley.. Woodley was just weak in that fight.. 8t happens to the best
Loss or not, izzy is in my opinion an absolute beast. He is smaller than lot of his opponents, and still have the strength and the mental to put them down, it's easier to talk a lot when you don't have your feet inside a ring or octagon, so my respect to every fighters, and izzy for being such a great fighter.
@blitzbenny he is tall but skinnier than some of them, did you see how huge Pereira was. Or did you only see what you wanted to see? If you never puts gloves with someone physically stronger than you, maybe you should just for fun.
His coaches had studied so much tape and were picking up on Izzys style live during the fight, hes saying they did a great job by alerting izzy of his next moves. You can hear Erik during the fight pre calling kicks and stance changes before they came.
@@bubbabuttz1629exactly why Sean said in his interview that Izzy is a one trick pony and had figured it out quickly. All respect to you Izzy but I feel like you did underestimate Sean.
@@BraxtonSharkboy thats just sean talking, he also said he walked through Izzy but that fight went all 5 rds. I didnt see Izzy laid out once. If he was a 1 trick pony his record would have a lot more L's - Remember Izzys overall record with Kick boxing and UFC is over 100 wins with less than 10 losses. People are just quick to talk shit online.
People in the comments are acting like Izzy sucks 🤣🤣🤣 beat everyone in his division, some of them twice. People did the same thing when he lost to Alex, like people win every fight they are in. Ignorance.
I feel that you held back on Strickland, held back bad... He out-puzzled you in that one. It is a puzzle you could have solved, but in that moment, it evaded you. ANZAC'll be back! 😄
@@muriloalexx1503bro this is Izzy’s channel his white knight army of simps will come for you as you can only glaze Izzy here and nothing else. Just look at the comment section. Cringe af
Pretty smart tbh, recycling the content given the current social media promo happening for sticklnads upcoming fight and Izzy’s previous history with ddp. I understand it being annoying at the same time, but working in marketing, nice to see that Izzy’s brother is deploying a smart tactic for getting more views off of previously used content
This was only a week after the fight? Respect to Izzy for opening up and not pretending like it didn't happen. He's still one of the greats in the UFC and he'll have many more chances.
Huge Stylebender fan. He and Anderson Silva will always be my two favorites. But act like you still care. The DUI in training camp, the movie release, the complete and utter lack of power on the shots. The image of Sean Strickland taunting as time wound down and Izzy was still backing up. The feints, jabs, and leg kicks don't work anymore. You're one of the best of all time Izzy but do you really want to get back in there? No adjustments at all for years.
@@LitPenguin713 lets b honest tho he was losing badly and played possum to hit him with something . if he doesn't land he probably loses again and ruins his legacy
@@EzReditshe wasn’t losing badly…. That’s an exaggeration. Part of his game plan was to let Alex open up and all of their fights. Izzy was winning rounds, but he got caught by that Layton power that Alex had. This was pure strategy.
Mental fatigue plus over training ....everytime as the fight starts i watch the core strength...if soft youll fall apart ...fitness isnt just for the fights year round training martial and fitness u got this Lion
I understand what you mean by the noodle hands. It’s happened to me and made no sense why. I was not scared or unprepared, but for some reason, I was drained. I almost became paranoid thinking it was some preordained decision by unseen forces that I wouldn’t perform. Just weird.
@@didickcheeseburger You ought to blame yourself for your inability to comprehend the English language. Unashamedly approaching a stranger with your disgusting attitude over a comment you could barely read, let alone understand 😁
Izzy needs to find his comfort in leading with his right jab...Sean aims to lead with his right too...izzy can disrupt Sean's right with his own and minimize the counter punches
i feel like flash concussions would short your nervous system out pretty aggressively and you might not recover the top end of it with the kind of pressure you can see inside of a fight.
Not an Izzy fan at all, whenever he does a loss video, he just makes it seem like he doesn’t show up instead of the other fighter completely shutting him down.
Lol... Yall cant be serious. Am I the only one that thinks Izzy threw this fight?? Its like Bruce Lee losing to karate kid!! I respect Sean as a fighter but Izzy is levels above this guy on every level. Sean could not handle none of the elite opponets Izzy deafeated in the way he did in this fight.. Just saying🤔In myTyson voice) Sumfthin awfully suthspicious!! 😳
Everyone has a switch. Anyone can get touched. If they run it back don’t be surprised if it’s Sean’s turn to hit the mat. Y’all must have forgotten about the rematch with Mr 🏹
I am have always been curious, how to you post the same video again, you posted this video before and now I see it says you posted this video 17 hours ago….. UFC does it too, they post the same video over and over… Can anyone answer this?
That series of punches early on in the fight took a lot out of him, I think that explains why he was feeling weak for the rest of the fight… good save though, he finished on his feet
Adesanya didn't underestimate him, and he wasn't "moving in slow motion" either. He fought a guy who knew how to beat him and who had already thoroughly cultivated the exact style to do so his entire career. To beat Strickland in a rematch he would need to make significant adjustments to his style, at least for that fight.
Sean broke him In that fight. Imagine having just avenging your loss to your biggest rival to then fight a guy that should not have chance against you on paper. To then getting beat to the punch, dominated in every exchange. Your defense don’t work and your offensive striking is all blocked. That last round you could see that Izzy was broken mentally. There were no -Willing to die in there. It was only don’t want to this anymore let me loose so I can get home. Hopefully he can find his inner fighter spirit again.
Izzy should retire maybe after 1 more fight. Woodley said the sammeeee thing about the Usman fight about Noodle Arms and bad dream and it was all downhill from there
Frère izzy j'attends ton retour... Tu l'as déjà vécu, déjà fait....comme disait César Veni, vidi, vicci... Je suis venu j'ai vu j'ai vaincu... Tu reviendras reverra et revincra Champ
Izzy just needed a reset, you worked hard for it all. I know you don’t care bc I’m just some random in the comments, but good to see you get a WELL DESERVED break! But it will be 3 time middleweight champ soon!
The best part is that becuse is his Brother that asking Izzy things his Brother did a amazing job. I was so impressed by both of them. I dont think a reporter could done the same job becuse izzys Brother dose not need to be scared to Ask him anything. Well Done
Is David trying to be a comedy interviewer like Nina Drama or does he want to be serious like Laura Sanko? If comedy then he needs to push it more, if serious then quit the joke intro, etc. I say this with only good intentions. You need to let us know what you're about.
Think Izzy could win on a roll back the only thing his got going for strick is the way he fights it's so weird but that only works once when people find your weakness
