Mearsheimer is generally very soft spoken and polite, I’ve never seen him mad even when he gets insulted, but it looks like Piers’s incredible denseness actually irritated him.

Mearsheimer is a classical realist (as in realpolitik), he never makes the mistake (according to his school of thought) to delve into the “how should it be” of the scenario but only into the “how is it”

Just look at the difference in behaviour and emotion when pierce talks about occupation of Ukraine and Palestine. He is so "moral" that Palestine must accept occupation and Ukraine must fight "good" to the last man they have.
Hey, there is no " occupation of Ukraine " - there is liberation of historic Russian territories. I was born over there. For 30 years people of Donbass were begged Ruusians to liberate them from Ukrainian regime. It happened. Liberation, not occupation.

Also millions o Ukrainians fled to Russia , more than any other European country. This conflict is not black and white. It is western Ukrainian nationalists who spearheaded maidan revolution versus the east of Ukraine who want to be absorbed into russia (supported by Russian soldiers).

@@GuyBarazani there’s an illegal occupation of the West Bank and Gaza since 1967. and yes, setting up a siege line and a naval blockade counts as occupation whether you move 7 Jews off the land or not. this occupation is internationally condemned and the illegal settlements it enables are too.
