Agree. The bombing of the Iranian embassy in Damascus a couple of days ago seems to me an attempt to escalate the situation with the goal to draw the US into the war. This is exactly what was the case with the USS Liberty.

Thank you, Thomas Karat , Salt Cube Analytics for having Phil Tourney on today. I just found this today. I also understand what happened to the USS Liberty Navel Ship AGTR-5, 1967 6-day war. I have read the book by James M. Ennis Jr." Assault ON THE LIBERTY," My family donated it to our local Library. But got it back, I just recently donated it back to my library in 2023. Also have seen, 2 documentaries about the ship. My brother Tommy Wayne Wheeler was also on that ship. He came home and did tell us everything, even though my family knew certain things before it happened. I was a young girl. My brother came home and he was never the same. He was angry and tried to get help. He was tormented. He never kept his Navel Oath even when he came home. Coincidentally, he passed away July 3, 1983, and is buried in my family's graveyard with The USS Liberty AGTR-5 engraved on his tombstone. Even his death was tragic. It is unconscionable what our own government has been willing to do, what it has actually done and apparently what it is still doing still to this very day. They never consider the consequences of their actions. They seem so cavalier about the serious consequences of their decisions. Thank goodness for men like this that are working to get the story out there. But I wonder how many are listening. In hearing his story, I'm reminded of a line from a James Bond film, in government "The names change, but the lies remain the same."

I have interviewed a Swedish engineer who did a small expedition to the actual site with a remote controlled drone. Managed crises give more power, and don't forget more wealth, to those who already have vast amounts of said things. It's always an excuse to take people's freedoms and/or money away. But that only works because too many people fall for it every time.

Every time I watch another video about the attack I learn about some horrendous detail I didn't know about. They wanted to draw the US into the war with Egypt. When a journalist said to a former Israeli colonel, "you know Israel could have started a nuclear war Russia ( Egypt's ally ). The Israeli colonel responded,..."so."
What would happen if the US just said "no we won't jump into a war for you". Unrealistic I know, but surely this idea that you can force a country into a war they don't want by alliance doesn't work if the country just dumps their promise to join a war.
What is the positive side of letting Iran be belligerent and take hostages and fund proxy armies? I was in the Army, infantry in the U.S. war against the people of Viet Nam. Many years went by. I’ve learned much. I now say I was a pawn in the U.S. goal of world dominance.
Phil - how much more does it take for you to learn who your (the people's) friends and enemies are? You've learned next to nothing if, as you say, you intend to vote for Trump and you try to justify that. Until there's a drastic change in your country, you need to "look" beyond the Dems and the GOP. Support someone like Stein given the options.
I totally agree with you...I think if she is voted into office, a shockwave will enforce a new change in the US, and down across the western world. We need someone like Jill Stein in the white house.

its risky to go into semantics with a linguist ;-) There was clearly, as a matter of historical documents, a conspiracy according to the exact definition of the term. Superstition has noting to do with it.

I call bullspit. After decades of billions of dollars of un-aliving equipment flowing there, it's ludicrous to say that that mean blue-star country is victimizing the nation that willingly and egregiously funds blue-star's military adventures. And (willingly and egregiously!) provides diplomatic cover for said military adventures.
It's an odd one, but when you look into abberant behavior by the US military such as when they shot up a cable cars in Italy and other cover ups, from the Israeli perspective it was seen as a spy ship giving information to egypt, at the same time Israel had a spy in the Egypt military. The context of the days leading to this war is missing, often something seen when people have a chip on their shoulder about Jews or anyone.
