I love how, when gaijin cared about this game, 400mm heat was enough to relegate a vehicle to 7.7 or above, and now they're like "meh 6.0 is fine". Shit should definitely be 7.7
It's literally a sherman, EVERYTHING above 6.0 can kill it way better than it can kill them. It's slow, its outdated, its loud, it's very large, it's got no countermeasures or NVD and it has zero armour, it cant stop most early tree guns, let alone hold even a lick against 30mm APFSDS autocannons. The gun is the only reason it stands up to most 6.0 tanks. Dont be rediculous mate. Its effectively useless in queue once you get the megach, for anything except sniping from VERY FAR AWAY.
@@glinting_infantry6823 It was a gun designed in the mid 50s, on a chassis designed in 1942. Using mid 50s auxiliary technology. You're point is moot either way, because the BR system is about balancing first and foremost, then time period accurate matchmaking. If you're gonna sit here and tell me the m51 is broken at BR 6.0, I suggest you go buy it and try it out for yourself, then try it at whatever br you think it should be and come back. :)
A fine job indeed. Unfortunately my first experience with it was the first three games back to back where fields of Poland. With no adjustment of fire and stock crew with poor rangefinding (yea I used grind squares) it was a little rough. I did get kills but only like 3-4 per game
@@bleurghs yea, it works really well. Even if you are like 100 meters off or so then you just reload and fire again while they're freaking out and trying to find your range. Works AMAZING for mid tier Germany on big maps because they have such good drop rates.
It is an extremely fun tank, incompetent players always fail to properly judge it. Tiger players especially, right side front ammo compartment go "BOOM" Love the replys by the way, lots of kids crying saying its too low BR. Push it up one and its outgunned by everything, also most tanks at BR 7 and up have spaced armour or some form of protection against it. The tank is only as good as the person using it, 400mm HEAT is not OP its the definition of "you missed the first shot prepare to die boy" Inconsistent, slow to load, and not that accurate at range considering the hellish drop from its sheer mass.
My experience fighting these things is 99% of the time people who have no idea what they are doing trying to brawl in this thing and then dying immediately or at most getting one free kill. An then there is the guy who finds obnoxious positions to lol pen things from while US players spend the entire match dropping bombs.
@@nhungnguoibanhoctumoi2121 it’s 50/50 for me. Either it’s spawn get bombed and then spawn and get bombed again. Or American pilots spend the entire match pew pewing at heavy tanks leaving the caps wide open and doing their best lawn dart impression.

@@nhungnguoibanhoctumoi2121 They have very good planes. I never had as much fun in the air as with US planes. 50 cal go tatatatatatataatatatqtaatatatatatatattatatata tatatatattattatatta for minutes cause the ammo capacity is so big compared to the 20 mm xD
I absolutely love the M-51. The 105mm cannon shreds any armor it shoots at. You could even put at 7.3 and it will do fine since the cannon is that strong (you have to be competent to make it work)
400mm heat should not exist against WWII tanks period. It completely ruins the game, especially since everybody is spamming this (relatively) cheap premium.
@@JoviaI1 The only thing this has is the max pen. If you look at the M-51 with all of it's aspects it's not the best. You have the hull M4A1 meaning if someone sees you before you see them, you're deleted. Plus the mobility is neither good nor bad. Plus, this modified Sherman has no stabilizer no more, so you can't just stop and shoot immediately. It's not like it's overpowered. If you are having a difficult time strategizing how to kill an M-51, then that's a certified skill issue.
@@JoviaI1 Also, by implying that HEAT or HEATFS should never be used to WWII era tanks, then we should uptier the jpz 4-5 too as it can fire HEATFS, ignoring the fact the even if t had HEAT, it can still get decimated in a match

Well thats nice getting god mode in that thing, thats why putting this sherman up in BR wont really make sense, because the only thing good in the tank is its gun so eh BR range is perfect
Its the same shell as the amx 30, but the shells used for 51 was sorta adjusted, the velocity is 800m/s while the amx is 1000m/s and also the heat from the m51 was kinda modelled like a ww2 heat instead of a heatfs in terms of post pen damage
@@tdkyt46 at the end of the day, it is still a Sherman with no short stop stabilize. I do very well in it because I am not an idiot. It isn't an OP tank by any means.
@@omnipotank can't agree more lol, also do people know how hard it is to not hit bushes, trees and obstacles with heat? It can literally get you killed instantly if you don't aim it right
@Demon I mean, there's a lot of tanks that would kill for 400mm pen rounds even at higher tier. And they don't get much in terms of elevation / rotation speed either

There's nothing like doing a series of kills with an atomic bomb at the end and at the beginning of the faction's development. Edited*: 2 weeks ago I started playing Israel and this M-51, it feels like "I don't care how thicc is your armor, my cannon pierces everything! Buahahahaha!" ... Pretty much everything because the only thing it can't beat is reactive armor... ... But still i love play it!❤
I mean, you are paying to be mid tier and skip ww2 tanks, for me it's kinda bs because that means newer players might flood the top tier but I guess it's just free kills, but it seems toxic to me
@@tritipguy9325 yeah I get that but it's a tree that can be bought, which means it a way to skip the low tiers which is crucial to learning Tha game, and if they change that then fine, but imo it's just another tree that'll be a for people who like niche vehicles instead of playing a game Just to be clear I don't hate the tree, but how it's presented is a bit off to me, when the boats where separate into 2 groups essentially no one was playing them and that's fine, because the grind in those vehicles is ass, but another tree that needs a requirement is like unlocking characters from a moba game, it doesn't matter who/what you choose there are always op or shit tanks

It’s balanced un every aspect because ok the penetration is crazy but you have a shitty reload below average mobility for a med at this br and it’s the only 6.0 in the tree appart from the premium one. This tank will mostly fight in uptier because people will use it with amx 13 and magach 1… so yeah 400mm pen is much help because that’s the only thing you got

Do you even know how you can start the tech tree? You can't start it like a new nation, there are requirements, stop complaining and check how to even use the israeli nation
Meanwhile my first experience with the S-199 was a bf109 airframe that ALSO cant climb, against Japan. Which out climbed it, massively. And out dived it. So that went well. (It isnt much better fully upgraded please kill me)
@@uisce_ you just don't know it's play style for me it suits my play style perfectly this thing is excellent if you don't know how to peak in the game maybe that's why you aren't good or you stuck doing arcade for no reason
