So true I knew him personally and his family they lived a block from us in Makaha Iz saved me from drowning when I was about 12 he was like 16 off the reefs we would swim in a pool with formed were the ocean with it and we swam there. He will forever be in my ❤️ and live on through his beautiful music 🎶 Rest in heaven brahh ohana❤️🤙🤙🙏
@@tammyavitia1678 heard him sing, it was like the pure essence of Hawaii to listen to him, my daughter was bron there, and she was just a baby and soothing to say the least, she knew his music but never knew him...her birthday is coming up on Sunday so been taking her thru a memory trip of times we spent there thru pictures and music...will always remember that sweet voice and sense of tender humor...
We lived there for 3 years, and understood his desire for the sacredness of the Islands, we first lived in Nanakuli, and it was awesome to live with the locals and be accepted despite being a Haole...they just took me under their wing and I was one of them, it was funny because even when we went shopping they'd call someone a Harley and then remember I was that as well and say they were sorry, but never wanted them to apologize, loved them for themselves, my daughter was born in 1978 and had some very sweet Aunties there...I hate seeing whats happening to the localness of the Islands, commercialized how it is...my best friend in the world is native Hawaiian, her mom still lives in Honolulu, but that may not be much longer for she is getting on in years, and bless her sweet soul is fading...I'll ALWAYS love the Islands and its ppl, and wish that they could have remained purer as Iz so wanted...
@@Damselfly54315 I lived in Nanakuli as well right across the beach ⛱️ wow after my mom split from my step dad and we moved to Waipahu. Yes iz was for the Hawaiian island and the people 😔 there will neva be another! He was unique and much loved and still is till this day from memories and his beautiful 🎶 🎵 ❤️🙏
@@tammyavitia1678 How wonderful...❤ Loved the beach there, rocks were awesome near Nanakuli, son went to elementary school just up the road a little ways, but walked across the road to that beach area but shouldn't have turned my back to the waves, one caught thus very pregnant momma off balance, taught me a lesson, lol loved that little store just up the road, and the People, oh the people were the best! sadly we were made to move from Nanakuli to the military crater, which I hated lol nicer place they said, we I loved our little townhouse in Nanakuli, and the neighbors SO AWESOME!!! been a long time since those days, truly miss those sweet ppl...❤ My favorite place after that was Waimea Falls Park...got season passes and it was SO nice, but I hear commercialism has taken over much on Oahu now, truly sad...why can't ppl just let beauty BE!
