Good stuff, Randy. I was able to get similar results with holding the mic on my computer headset to the speaker on my Alinco DR-635 mobile radio and using MMSSTV software on my PC. WU6X
I only got one pass, but still good fun. KO6TH reminded us and so I gave it a try. Hey, I've been enjoying watching the new shop go together. Cool! I'll say hello to the guys next coffee!
Don't need a tracking antenna. I have been using ARRL ISS Minimalist antenna with great resultswww.arrl.org/files/file/ETP/ISS%20Minimal%20Antenna/ISS%20Minimalist%20Antenna%20article.pdf
@@K7AGE I went cheap and easy to do this. I had issues with Virtual Audio Cable in the past so I used an extra 1/8" phono patch cord and hooked up the line out to the line in on my motherboards sound card. This way I can decode KiwiSDR and of course RU-vid videos.
I think I copied 9 passes over the two days. I may have missed a pass or two. Two to three pictures for each pass. The picture takes two minutes to send, then a two-minute break. On a good pass, there may be enough time for 3 pictures. But the first and last picture may be noisy due to being lower in elevation. I have just a simple fixed position J Pole antenna. I do live near the top of a hill with a good view of the horizon in all directions. I was amazed at how well I copied the space station at low elevations. Someday, I want to get my tracking antenna system back up and running.
