semifinal 1v1 open battle between Issei of Japan vs Stripes of USA Judges: - Crazy Legs - Storm - Poe One - Narumi - Skim - Lil Cesar - Goku - Jeskilz - Renegade DJs - Lean Rock - Foxx Boogie - BlesOne - Fleg MC - Ivan - Nemesis
All rounds were fair imo, the first round both were on par however I thought Stripes was more original and balanced in his movements and esp the last two, Issei was way more dynamic in the second though that slip up in the third cost him. Y’all gotta remember Issei has been seen a thousand times over it’s hard for him to stand out, this is also Stripes turf so he has a slight advantage. Just my observation, peace.
If you don't agree with the decision of the judges, don't dislike the youtube video because of that. It's pointless. The quality of the video is very good and stance has nothing to do with the judges. Why are you people disliking?
@@Rayquan47 This is held in USA man. THEY ARE RACISTS TOWARDS ASIANS! Issei is a master of KILLING THE BEAT at this point. Killing the beat means you are dancing in tune with the beat!
Guys if you dont agree with judges opinion it is not called robbery :) that's why we have 7 high level judges ! Altough i liked issei more i agree with judges opinion they know what they do
4 out of 7 judges gave round 1 to Stripes. 4 of those judges were American. If all things are equal, I think American judges tend to lean towards foundational/traditional style (nice on top, nice on the bottom, power and steeze - balance and well rounded, something that victor specializes in). If this is the case, I’d understand why they’d chose Stripes over Issei in round 1. That said, round 2 for sure goes to Issei. Signature power wins.. Round 3, you could tell Issei was easing off. Not sure if Round 2 cost him energy, but I understand why round goes Stripes.
Idk I’ve never seen him do that set on the 3rd round and I watch a ton of issei. I think he was saving his better sets for later in the competition and hoping to win vs stripes without using them. Def could be wrong but if he’s tired I’m pretty sure he’d throw a signature set.
that's correct, imagine if every bboy did the same moves you wouldn't be able to judge and it would be boring to watch, but in my opinion bboys are the most creative dancers we only have the cloning problem in popping style.
Rd 1 stripes Rd 2 issei Rd 3 debatable because they both looked tired in their rounds to put in one last solid memorable round but I would give it to stripes. Judges were right 👌
The reason issei was at loss was because he was missing the snare, usually issei hits the snare really well, but the timing of this break was unique, If you watch issei in other battles and while you watch count in your head 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8 YOU WILL NOTICE THAT EVERY 2,4,6,8 HE WILL BE EXACTLY IN SYNC WITH THE SNARE DRUM, ON THE 1 HE WILL HIT A BIG MOVE AND ON THE 3,5,7 HE WILL BE ON THE KICK
Issei is one of the best, but some of you guys just overhype him. His power/dynamics are crazy but he relies on spinning too much lmao and that was clearly his problem during RBC1. Compared to Victor, he's just not as complete and that's really his weakness. Also dont call out the judges, there are 7 people voting individually and if Stripes won, he won. Dont discredit other dancers because you think Issei won, give respect where it's due and dont be fkn toxic.
@Issa Latar Stripes Is fraud he is a scam! Watch world bboy classic Stripes vs Lussy Sky he defeated him easily the 2 time winner of the tournament and stripes became 2 time winner for 2 years. FUCK THESE JUDGES STOP HYPING STRIPES AND MENNO AND OTHERS LIKE THEY ARE BETTER THAN OTHERS TO MAKE THEM LOOK GOOD!
You simply cannot come this far and not do some signature powermoves and still win . Sure issei could have done better but in my opinion he already won the battle after the first two rounds so he just kinda did a few things in the last letting stripes have that round. Issei sure should have won and i dont kniw why the crowd didnt hype him up at all:/
in my opinion, because stripes is from USA, and breaking was born in the USA, soooooo they want to give him a opportunity to win...its really hard to beat asians nowadays...they just too good
@@emanueldor-chay8540 It is not a good reason to let him give a chance to win. You are here in this tournament it means you are given the chance the problem is can you win? Bias decision from the judges. This is like Battle of the year and red bull bc 1.
Felt like Issei took it - matched Stripes on originality and vibes, but excelled on difficulty, while stripes had a bit more flow. Still credit to Stripes, he has been in the game for a while and has always been ill.
this was so bs and baised. Why did they take off Narumi as a judge when it was a Japanese bboy. also we can all agree round 1 and round 2 was completely issei
For me issei killed it all .. from tempo to the beat ryhmt .. also, if you so good too judge .. you should looking at slip over flip and swipe to swing ... Tecniq also stepility ... Issei save movement for next battle .. but i'm felling bad cause he not go to next round ...
@@attackdefense1880 when it doesn't go your favorite boys way, it's not always cause he is from a certain country. Also you must not know how Americans rep. They rep their states
Um, what happened to Issei? As most of you probably know, he did much better in 2016 and 2017. It can't be helped because issei is also a human being, just like us. He has his own pase…
Yeah right stripes style is a losers style. Do floor rock then spin then break pose then another rocking then stand up do top then go down do rocking then ahhh there is no flavor. What kind of style do people needs to understand he is less dynamic. I can see his energy but before this in the quarter he should have lost!
breaking is a conversation. Issei replied to Stripes power set with a power set, but in round 2, Issei replied to Stripes footwork set with more power that didn't really respond. Then Issei lost with even more power when Stripes brought more complex footwork and flow. that simple
flavor vs powermove new bboy and people not knowing what stripe capble of doing something new gen never knew in this community! stripes makes true bboy is not hatin issei he's dope but stripe is RAW
i really would like if Issei won but guys you cant call it a robbery we have to respect the judges decision its really hard for them to judge. Bboying/Bgirling is all about respect and discipline .
stripes was better, didn't see no robbery look at the judging most the judges agreed stripes was better. It's fair judging when you have that many judges
Judging isn't just about that round, if a bboy has used most of their moves in their arsenal that plays a factor. Stripes was shit in the final, Issei would have been better, you cant deny that
SAIKAT PAUL, Poe One voted for Stripes round 1, then voted Issei Round2. Poe One is a pioneer, just as much as storm. I think we have to respect the judges’ decision.
Poe Ones voting proves my point about snare hits, in the first round issei misses some snare hits and loses the round, in round 2 issei hits all the snares and wins the round
Bboy judging went to hell Mostly couse who is at home has great advantage, its like that in every sport but this is to obvious Afcourse menno will win in amsterdam, victos vs stripes finals in usa, hong 10 in seoul, dr.hill goes almost to finals in switzerland etc. A lot of examples, i mean some of those are wins for real, others are couse of home advantage. If great competition comes to morroco maybe lil zoo or wolfer will not win it couse they are Austrian now lol
For the people who are going to say "issei got robbed wtf, he took the first round", look his first round again, where are the footwork ? he only did powermoves, thus of course stripes took the first round
No disrespect but my footworked looked like stripes on my first week of bboying. You know what I told myself after that? "This shit is ugly, lemme raise my hips abit and not do lazy footwork". I admit he took round 3 tho but other two rounds was robbery. Let's be honest, judges are just tired of isseis moves and style.
stripes 1st round really? stripes and the judges wish they could pull off half the shit issei does and keep this in mind he's injured, in rbbc one he competed with a meniscus tear
I didn't even have to watch the video to know that Stripes doesn;t really stand a chance against Issei. After watching it, I am confused - Stripes looks like a beginner and Issei is one of the best b boys from Japan (if not THE Best) Issei got *ROBBED*
Stripes has won a bunch of world class events for good reason. Understand flow and technique and how Issei has none of that compared to Stripes and his crew then come back. Otherwise stay commenting on youtube.
@@gogogoooooooooo Keep working on on your hand swipes and baby windmills. You'll get there bud. Issei's crew came in 2nd @ BOTY 2018. What did Stripes' crew do?
@@CraigSays Damn bro you're really pathetic as well as uneducated when it comes to the breakin scene if you don't know about Stripes or his crew. Especially if you think Stripes looks like a beginner...
Stripes was more in time with the kick and the snare on this occasion, I don't why judges don't tell more people of this, but they actually care a lot about 8 counts
If you tap your finger to the beat during isseis first round some of his steps don't match the beat, then if you tap the beat during his second set, you will see that he rides the kicks and snares perfectly on his second round, hence why he won the second round
If this was before he tore his meniscus he would of smoked stripes for sure, but I just like to share this knowledge, because being on beat (like a metronome sense/5,6,7,8 etc) isn't made openly available, because some of the people who control the have an exclusionary mindset, which in some ways is actually really good for the scene, but it also means that the judges do not give out their feedback as openly as I think they should
