i did not read comments yet and saw only issei here, thesis used to be my idol, but when i saw 1st round of issei, its just unbelievable inhuman, probably best full-stack bboy i ve seen, incredible power transitions and top beat killer, just now i understand all that hype around him, was better than you can imagine any combo made in bboy game, one of best ive seen

The dislikes are real with this video. Why can't we appreciate both styles and where they came from? Thesis has so much detail in his style, techs and movement we wouldn't even understand, I see why he won. Issei is still a youngin, but has proved to be one of the top elite bboys of the world for his age. He has that strong authentic power bboy style. And can definitely dance too. This was a great battle overall, there's no winner here when both pulled out their infamous signatures and kept it all on that floor. Much respect to both.

Thesis dances with so much flavor. Issei had great power and musicality but, Thesis was just better rounded. From a technical perspective it looks like Issei won with his great tricks but, from a dance perspective it looks like Thesis won with his intricate movements and attitude.

Thesis the goat. He seems like the only bboy who actually toprocks/finesses with the music. It gives him that x factor not to mention he breaks in themes/concepts that are highly original

Thesis ROCKED the music way better than Issei. thats why he won. this is a dance and thesis clearly knew the music way better than issei. he was even singing along with the lyrics. thesis' toprock? footwork? originality? detail? Thesis was more well rounded and hit more beats. thats why he won. isseis got him on powermoves and blow ups but the dance is so much more than that. issei wasnt about to beat thesis in an exchange of hitting beats either. I would give the first two rounds to thesis and the last round to issei. it was a good battle. I give respect to issei too cuz in the battle he was hyping up thesis and being playful too and not all bboys do that. respect.

Thought Thesis deserved the first 2 rounds, and so the battle. But just as the 3-2 of the judges showed, I agree the first round was very close. I almost feel like Issei lost the battle due to a strategic error - his first set up until the dope beat-hitting end sequence was well executed and difficult but was an almost too conventional powermove sequence. Had he dropped his last set first, or even one of his more interesting sets from earlier in the competition, he may have won that round and then possibly the battle. But all in all a great battle between I believe deservedly the 2 best bboys in the world at the moment.

can you guys leave in the crowd sounds? Great videos, but the hype of the crowd really adds to the battles.

My thoughts on this battle are the same as the one between Issei v Kuzya last year: We're watching this battle in isolation from the whole event. The judges meanwhile watched Issei battle from the Pre-Rounds up to the Finals. So maybe the judges felt that Issei was repeating his moves too much, because (you have to admit) Issei does similar variations of spins/flares/halos. Thesis is definitely guilty of repeating patterns too but because of how he structures his sets, it's so much harder to catch it when he does. I don't know what the results of the Pre-Rounds Issei v Thesis battle were, but I wouldn't be surprised if Issei beat Thesis in that battle when Issei's moves were still fresh and new. But by the time they both met up again in the Final, it looked like Thesis was still keeping it fresh while Issei was coming off as repeating. And in reply to the people who say Issei's musicality in the 1st round was better than Thesis's, I have to disagree. Issei definitely killed the beat with his flip and his freeze from 1:31-1:33. However, Thesis was riding the beat through his whole set, and his moves were more intricate and complex. Neither was more musical than the other, they were musical in their own ways. This round could have gone either way (It was 3-2 decision after all) and I guess different judges place higher points on different styles of musicality, even if they aren't biased.

While people are in the comment section arguing and fighting over who won, Issei and Thesis were out there having fun, respecting each other, and giving each other props for their battle moves. Hip hop is about respect, and freedom of expression. Everything else is just bs.

Great battle overall, but I feel like Issei repeated some moves/freezes, 1:30 jump into a freeze was used against Bruce, sick beatkill but still a repeat. Not taking away on his greatness, hes a world level bboy, just throwing it out there. Thats why I think Thesis took the battle tbh.

Classic Distinction of the different styles of judging: Judging round by round I'd give the first 2 rounds to Thesis just by a little, but that last set he had was complete trash. You could tell he was dead tired and threw a crap crashy set. Issei was pretty consistent, and although he was beat by Thesis round by round in the first 2 rounds, it wasn't by much. But Issei wrecked the last round. So overall on average, Issei had Thesis beat. Round by Round = Thesis Overall Battle = Issei
