I had a set of Firestone bags with Firestone compressor on my old F-250 that went 14 years with zero problems. I'm waiting on my new Firestone Blue Label bags with Firestone dual compressors to show up for my new 2020 F-350 Platinum. Love my airbags will never own a truck without them.
@workplaytv when you called airlift did you discuss an under hood mount option and any issues with heat they could see? I have this kit OTW now for my 7.3 and this video was good for me. Thank you for the content. I don’t see a good place to install behind the rear seat so was thinking under the hood as you suggested in the vid. Again, thanks for the great content.
Can you use the compressor to fill tires as well? I feel like if I buy a compressor it should be able to fill my tires as well. Can’t find any videos on this.
My compressor seems to be broken. When I try to adjust the pressure, the compressor comes for a second and stops. Every time. I assume the compressor is shot?
I ended up putting inside behind the rear passenger seat and it's not to lowd the issue I'm having now after a year of owning it is it bleads air out everytime when I first start the truck, I loose about 10lbs. of air that's the only issue I have
You are talking behind the driver correct, I got the passenger side no problem but the drivers side is making me look like fool......I think I'm going to wait on the compressor until I get a tank and my Train Horns, I'll just run the air lines direct for now....Everyone is telling me not to put the compressor inside, it will be to lowd they say....If you say put 50lbs. In in the morning and you go out and haul your trailer how long will the air last? Thanks for answering
Thank you for the education! I just had the Airlift 7500xl installed on my Ram 5500 and I had the compressor installed in one of my storage boxes to keep it out out of the weather, per your advice. Hopefully you’ve helped spare me from some future grief! I really enjoy a lot of your videos and I wish you all the best!
I've just bought this also yet to install it. I've read a few stories where the wireless remote system doesn't work very well, have you had any issues with it
Dennis Hazeltine Hi Dennis I’ve been using my Air Lift since May will no problems with the remote or anything else with the system. I use it a lot, since I’m a transporter I’ve driven 44,000 miles with the Air Lift as of September, I really like it!
You can run the wires and air tubes through the back wall vents. I'm in Central Ca (so no snow) I mounted mine on the frame inside (above) the spare tire. It's completely protected from rocks, brush and crap on the road.
I think if I get the airbags for my F250 i will buy the kit without a compressor, I would just fill/adjust them as needed. If you were going to buy one of the kits again, would it be the Firestone or Air Lift?
Very random comment.. thinking of getting rid of my 99 7.3. Been a solid truck, and I love it. I wanna upgrade to the 6.7. I tow a 5th wheel camper currently, dont tow for a living or anything. Would you steer me the diesel direction or gasoline. -Dan
@@workplaytv 10k lbs is trailer weight, tow probably once a month. I'm in the military and do move around a lot. I put about 12000 miles a year on my 7.3 currently.
Dan Smith The gasser would def do the job for ya but the diesel would just do it easier. Now that I have owned diesel I couldn’t go back. It’s your call but the gasser would do the job.
@@workplaytv I love my diesel, and would like to go that route. But the new diesels scare me with the DPF . Have the kinks got ironed out? Any problems with the DPF and EGR on your powerstrokes?
I’m going to put air lift 5000 stainless steel with bump stops on my 22 f350 Platinum and I’m going to put compressor under retrax pro Mx power lid under box in bed. Do u think i will have any problems with it there with the cold from New England (Massachusetts)
I wonder if you get the undercarriage spray that helps with weather/rust etc... If you are careful with the application, maybe you could keep it under the truck with no issues
Could this condensation issue be resolved by just piping a air line from the compressor inlet to inside the cab so the air pulled into it would likely be dry and clean apposed to pulling air from under the truck?
@@workplaytv well, I'm going to find out. The gen II version comes with tubing and a filter to be located in a "dry location" i mounted (last night) my pump station on frame just behind passenger side and ran intake tubing up through a rubber plug behind passenger seat. Not sure I will have the same issues where I live Deaver Colorado. Gets cold, snowy and they use mag-chloride for road ice, but we have much lower humidity than you.
@@mrbyamile6973 I just got back inside the house and wondered where to install on my Ram 3500. After looking around underneath and hearing the good and bad, I thought the same. Mount on the frame and pipe the intake through the rubber plug, too. However, for vehicle interior moisture concerns, I'm going to place a desiccant dehumidifier, or disposable moisture absorber (a.k.a. DampRid) back there to help out.
My problem is that I bought a truck with this system already installed and the remote is missing so it's useless. I wonder if I can get a replacement remote.
4100 pounds on the ball? Probably 5 or 600 at most. The entire weight of the trailer is probably 4K, I’m guessing you meant trailer weight not ball/tongue weight. You should do an exit interview video about the f250 if you get rid of it. What was good / bad how many miles you put on it what you paid how much you got on traid in. That would be an interesting video.
@@workplaytv I believe he is stating that even if the empty trailer weight is 4140lbs, That doesn’t equate to tongue or ball weight, that is generally 10-15% Of an empty trailer, And could be higher with filled trailer, depending upon how the load is balanced front to rear. That is my assumption to his comment. So an empty trailer might only have 414-621lbs sitting on the ball.
