dont know where you are from liz,but i am born and bred in england. and all my life starting from school and society in general have been brought up to believe that england and the 'west' is superior to anywhere else. its almost like ive been programmed and brainwashed into thinking this way. but how far this is from the truth.

I'm a Brit who has lived in Germany for over 40 years ... Visited Turkey a couple of times and just love the Food and the Hospitality ... Here in Germany the Turkish Restaurants and Supermarkets are everywhere. The spice selection at my local Supermarket is phenoeinial and much cheaper than at the normal shops ... Just wish I could live in Istambul

Yes thanks Helen for the answer. They use to make a tea but I rather bought ,t as a decoration. They are naturally dry and I used to collect from my moms hometown Nevsehir Cappadocia.

I remember seeing all the fishermen on the Galeta bridge and I miss those large Simit rings. We have a store that sells them here but they are smaller and twice the price. The sandwich borek looks like what the US would call a panini.

The best part of Turkey is they still maintain same Ottoman style mosques which looks homogeneous and beautiful. Pakistan now builds mosques foreign to Pakistani or Mughal architecture.
