İstanbul Gar, Türkiye'nin İstanbul city, yer alan tarihi bir train stationudur. Built in 1872, this historical building was designed by #German architect August Jasmund during the Ottoman Empire. İstanbul Gar is considered as one of the important symbols of İstanbul, and it has lost its importance during the Cumhuriyet era.
However, there have been many discussions about the restoration of Istanbul Station. The restoration works, which started in 2013, were planned to modernize the original structure while preserving it. During the restoration work, some historical details and features were lost or altered, which caused criticism.
Following the completion of the restoration works, Istanbul Station started to serve again in 2018. The renewed station building is arranged in accordance with modern train lines and now has a more functional structure. During the restoration process, the exterior of the building was restored to its former appearance and the interior designs were renewed while remaining faithful to the original.
