In this video we introduce you to one of the most beautiful districts of Istanbul, the surroundings of the Süleymaniye Mosque.
After discovering the incredible history of the Süleymaniye Mosque and exploring one of the most beautiful views of the Bosphorus and Golden Horn, we introduce to a traditional Turkish Dish, Kuru Fasulye. With its 100 year history, Ali Baba Kurufasulye is renowned for its delicious beans, a must try if you find yourself in this area.
After fueling ourselves, we go on with our tour by passing by the Entrance Gate of the Oldest University of İstanbul, located in Beyazıt Square, and take a look through the oldest book market of Istanbul, Sahaflar Çarşısı. Then, it is time to treat ourselves with something sweet, so we go to the one and only Boza Shop in Istanbul, Vefa Bozacısı, which is an ancient drink dating back to 8-9000 years ago.
How to get to the Süleymaniye Mosque?
The best way to go to the Mosque is by the T1 Tram, located in the historical peninsula. You can either get off at the Beyazıt-Grand Bazaar stop and walk, or you get off at the Laleli- İstanbul Üniversity stop, and walk a shorter distance, which is what we decided to do.
