Gday, Just a quick clip of my 1980 Isuzu 6BB1 first start up after a full engine rebuild plus a home job turbo kit. I built this motor for my 79 F100 which, at the time, was running a 460 BBF. I tow a medium sized 2tonn trailer for work, and the 460 was much to thirsty.
I will upload more videos of the engine swap process over the next few months, plus some feedback on how it performs.

That is fantastic. I was looking at doing a 4BD1 swap into my 66 C20 but love the specs of the 6BD1. Are you able to do a video of how it fits in your F100 and any challenges you overcome please?

Yea 6 cylinder is a much better option, smoother, big gains in torque, same amount of work. I originally planned to make videos of the whole build, but my phone screwed up and I lost most the footage and photos, but I can make a current video of how it is, what I did etc sure

How well has that 6bb1 held up to the turbo? I’ve heard that adding a turbo to these isn’t a good idea without the piston oilers and different pistons.

Nahhh handles it just fine. Keep an eye on egts and oil temps, as long as you keep the tune safe, they don't have any issues being turbo'd. I rebuilt this one back to factory spec too, factory pistons, liners, rings and bearings. This engine has done over 30,000 ks in my 79 ftruck carrying our camper, trouble free.
