What are the compromises in tuning like this? Is there any risk of engine wear etc from doing this? If not, why doesn’t Isuzu calibrate the engine this way?
Hi Sam. No compromises. We still custom dyno tune/remap every ECU well inside the factory safety parameters set by the ECU for the vehicle. This makes it safe & reliable. Unsure as to why manufacturer's calibrate their engines like they do - they are all very underpowered from factory.
Nice Video guys, bit of a more unusual vehicle to tune but definitely got big gains out of the tune. Just curious, what was the stock boost on this engine and did you guys increase that for power gains?
Yes boost is always increased, but it's not the only thing that makes more power/torque. Check out our pinned Dynos & Custom Dyno Tuning video for info on how we custom tune our vehicles.
I am going to be picking up a 2006 npr 5.2 later on this year and i am interested in getting a tune for it. Are you guys able to do mail in tunes? I live in the U.S
@@UltimateDieselTuning Dang! I think there are a couple of places here that i can get one tuned at. Thanks for the reply! So cool what you guys are doing!
HI Brian, you look at the actual torque that the vehicle makes at the wheels on our dyno when it's in standard form, compared to the "after tune" torque figure... It's the GAIN divided by the ORIGINAL to get the percentage.
Hi Jason, it does not affect warranty mate. Have a look at this video that we did on this topic... ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-afyvsJF3V9A.html
@over opinionated It can improve fuel consumption depending on how it is driven. An increase in specific torque per fuel quantity will mean the same amount of fuel can be utilised for an increased amount of work.
