I’m going through I’m going through the same thing now. I’m leaning towards my fuel pump also because on my truck you fire it up and runs fine for like 30 miles or so pulling a load then it’s starts to make that ticking sound like your truck made. I put my scanner on it and it gave me code 482 low fuel pressure. It’s still an active code. If I rev mine it misses and it makes that ticking sound around 1400 rpm. It started to throw white smoke 💨 and it smells like a bad injector. My scanner did a cylinder performance test it showed cylinder 4 working at 82 percent and the others over 90 percent and 1 and 6 over 100 percent. So I’m thinking of swapping 4 and six to narrow it down since I don’t have that tool to put on the actuators to find the air leak. Let me know what was issue in your truck. I’m thinking fuel pump first to see if it fixes the issue but at this point it’s about the same price for fuel pump or one injector. I hope you found out what was the issue though
