Judo moves is where they grabb on to your clothes or gi but if you aren't wearing a gi or shirt , uppercuts and knees to the face , judokas who dont train striking won't ne able to defeat a boxer ot other material arts that train striking. Not saying that bbj , wrestling and judo are useless , they aren't but you need to be able to strike and defend against a striker also
@@crisalcantara7671 The techniques are easily adaptable to no-gi. The foundational understandings of body mechanics/center of gravity gained in judo are more important than the specifics of judo kata. But yeah, understanding striking is very important, almost as important as grappling is for strikers.
Anyone who thinks one martial art alone is the sole thing someone needs is just idiotic to begin with. Everyone who’s a veteran of their craft will tell you this(unless their into Aikido or Systema lol)
@@GeorgioArmoni you don’t have to sacrifice being a master of one thing to be great at other things as well. You can be an extraordinary Muay Thai fighter, and be excellent in BJJ and Judo, and be capable of manhandling the vast majority of people more times than not. Sure, you might sometimes get that phenomenal wrestler or some freak of nature who a wrecking ball couldn’t put down but both are quite rare.
I mean, it's probably their best shot after the low kick. A Judoka can catch you round house and that will not be cool, they can also go for double unders if you try to strike, and they might try to get a grip when yoy leg kick them so leg kicks aren't always the answer
@@jestfullgremblim8002 since when do judokas train to catch kicks , stop brow , you won't have any idea if the kick will come low mid or high or even if a super man puch is coming, what's next catching elbows uppercuts and knees lol
@@jestfullgremblim8002catch leg kicks lol after your legs broken more like catch it with his face all it takes is a faint low then go High then it's goodnight buddy
If the Muy Thai guy illegally covers himself with pure oil everywhere, and strips down to just underwear alone he can win. They can't grapple what they can't hold.
@@puffbelugasupremacy5968 Such a microscopic target is 100% safe😁. The other option is rule changes, soccer kicks and dropping elbows. Why are wrestlers allowed to be safe on the ground? My clothes, arms and legs are great targets. Why is why No Gi is only sensible option vs any wrestler.
Thats why i did judo and muay thai together. Two of the most effective martial arts. Judo is all you really need in most situations. Getting hit with the concrete with an osotogari is gonna hurt way more than a fist.
Big Facts. I train Judo, BJJ and Muay Thai also. Judo and Muay Thai complement each other nicely. MTs clinch game is strong and feeds into Judo throws well.
True. Any takedown that involve your opponent hitting the mat will be devastating on concrete. One successful double leg or uchi Mata will cause injury.
I trained Muay Thai and BJJ together but no judo directly. Do you find it difficult to get throws against good MT guys? My experience has been that MT doesn’t seem to develop nearly the center of gravity awareness actual grappling does so going against a judoka always felt like a pretty uphill battle. Judo skills seem to transfer easier into MT than MT into Judo.
@@gayealisir5661 flew so far ovee your head Boeing is jealous His point is that DJ doesnt JUST do 1 style like the guy in the comment implied, so it wasnt "grappling vs MT" but MMA vs MT
As someone who does both muay thai and grappling, I think the styles fit, because clinching up is one of the big aspects of muay thai. It's just like in judo, where you're not going to just get a footsweep from a resisting opponent like that. In muay thai like any other grappling art, it takes set up, and you can now set up your takedowns with knees.
Good thing about muay thai is you can be very good in the clinch, if you have a good coach. That will help a lot with wrestlers and judokas. But if they take you to the ground and you dont know grappling you are lost
@@andrewrex9041 Nah those hurt like hell, all im saying as a athlete with a background from boxing, ninjutsu, dancing. nothing has made me feel as help less as being in a clinch with a catch wrestler lol, now imagine a judoka or a greco style, they train more in the clinch than most fighting styles and the techniques are dangerous.
As a Muay Thai practitioner I think we and the grapplers have mutual respect for one another we could take each other out in different ways but I think the most effective would be MMA that’s why no one shits on it
Bro this has me dying because " Yo bro you want to fight?" " Yeah bro come on I told you not to mess with me" * sits down and crawls toward my opponent*
Muay Thai stances actually resemble some strike-based versions for ancient pankration. @@cesaralvesdemoraes3187 there's a reason there's no traditional wrestling, judo, BJJ, etc. in MMA either. They need to be more rounded than just 1 style.
@@cesaralvesdemoraes3187 it depends tho, against alex pereira or izzy i dont think muay thi stance would do harm, but against khabib,Mighty mouse(u can see Against rodtang) hell nah. But the purest form of mma is Jones, he just mixes them perfectly
@@cesaralvesdemoraes3187 I think its more they don't know grappling. A muay thai guy and a judo guy have virtually the same narrow stance, it's why I think judo benifits muay thai more than any grappling art
Its kind of strange to compare these two sports since they are complitely different. They both are combat sports but complitely different in every aspect
Bro did the craziest moves ever. The teep to the head is considered disrespectful in Muay Thai. And doing the 12 to 6 elbow is considered the strongest move especially in the back of the head, it is banned in most combat sports. The foot sweep to the judoka is crazy 💀. Muay Thai is Muay Style 🗿
As a Muay Thai practitioner I can tell you there is maybe like a 10% chance I would be able to sweep a judoka. Those guys would be having me sit on my ass all day.
