the gladiator is actually pretty cheap. not the one he had but they are fairly inexpensive when you consider most pickup trucks these days are selling for $50k+ unless you buy a single cab fleet type truck with hand crank windows.

The gladiator starts at $33,500 the raptor at around $50,000 and the trx at $70,000. There is a massive difference between all of them.

@Squirmin Herman the one eyed German One, its RAM, not Dodge. Nothing to hate, it's basically a copy of the Raptor just 900 pounds more. They talk about it in the video. You should appreciate Ford has been doing the Raptor for 10 years, completed the Baja 1000 almost stock with no major complaints. Also the Raptor has over one million real life tested miles on the Raptor. This truck took RAM over 3 years to complete, not the mention the failed attempts at the Rebel and the other Desert Runner they tried to do. If you think the didn't use the Raptor, which has been huge success for Ford, you are insane.

@@paulj9821 yeah let me know when your TRX actually finishes a Baja Race. FCA did everything they could to one up the Raptor except actually do what the truck was designed to do. Baja 1000. Until it does that it’s still just a poser. I don’t think it ever would because all they would be doing is stopping to fill up. Don’t forget who they copied to build that TRX... 10 years later. You’re right though that interior is killer lol

@@paulj9821 crappy v6 but still faster than most stock v8s. Horrible interior you got a point it’s from 2015. Ive driven a couple raptors imo they handle well. And you gotta think about it the TRX is a brand new truck vs a truck from 2015 with some changes done to it. It’s actually done the Baja 1000. Haven’t seen the trx even attempt any Baja style races yet.

Great test but I want to see them desert driving! That’s the Raptors primary design aspect and it’s forte. How does the TRX stack up to that type of off roading. To me it all about suspension, HP and frame strength.

One option for the Raptor that was not mentioned was the Recaro Seat package, which in my opinion takes the raptor's interior to a higher level, adding suede to the console lid and seats with blue stitching throughout the truck.

Finally the boys did it! Pound for pound, the Gladiator is the -gulp- better deal, but... The Raptor is the superior beast here (I called it in previous episodes). Both Ram and Ford are top-tier lux-offroaders, and the Raptor is proof that you do not need 700 hp. The Ram, as cool as it is, just looked like a wasteful $90k ...

Love that you guys are comparing these two. And I absolutely love that the Raptor finally has something that beat it (hp wise). I’m a proud owner of a 2019 raptor supercrew amd have a custom bed that holds all of my Offroad equipment. I daily it and use it for all of my road trips so mpg is actually important to me. In my opinion, the Raptor just looks a lot better. It’s still the best looking truck. HP wise, I was never happy about having a v6. It sounds horrible. But up until recently, it was the fastest. I’m hoping that Ford releases a gt500 Raptor. I’ll buy that for sure. I don’t even need an Offroad truck since I use my 2020 can am x3 rs turbo re for off-roading now. But it’s nice to have one.

Nice video comparing the three. I think I'm with Tommy on the Gladiator Rubicon diesel for proper trail sizing, excellent torque, and much better fuel economy (don't run out on the trail!). The TRX power is sick, but it is overkill especially given its thirst for gas. I'm also wondering if that is a crack at the bottom of the TRX lower control arm. Look at the video at 17:37 near the bottom of the LCA to the left of the shock bolt. Looks like a stress crack to me, but your mileage may vary.

that small half inch next to the screw, vertically? looks like, because it's "dark", could also be just a scratch

oh yeah... thats cast aluminum... fine for cars but probably the weak link on a 4X4... plus IFS... i think we just figured out that these will develop alignment issues

@@philtripe I’d wager that it’s plenty stronger. Looks huge and a lot of off-roaders have started using aluminum links and tie rods. They’re rigid but I wouldn’t want to bash them into rocks.
