I actually got my dad Battletrap about two days ago, and he absolutely loves it. He hasn’t been following Transformers since Age of Extinction, so we watched Bumblebee over the weekend, and he asked if they made any figures of the movie. To which I showed him my collection, and I told him that a new movie was coming out this year. He checked online, and saw Battletrap’s design, he said, and I quote. _”He looks BAD ASS!”_ So I got it for him, and he now keeps him on his desk at work. And we are DEFINITELY going to see RotB when it comes out.
That questionable, I mean what is the basic plot of the film, the trailers I seen give no indication of what the story is about, they are just a bunch of random scenes set to a lame piece of music that whoever was cutting it, thought it sounded cool!!
“Frenzy is a radio. *none of this can become a radio”* *Hasbro: “WE REUSED THE SAME STUDIO SERIES BUMBLEBEE DESIGN LIKE 30 TIMES YOU UNDERESTIMATE OUR POWER!”*
I'm curious how he would get around if he was a Duocon in the movie. Like would he have a grapple hook on his helicopter mode (assuming he would be a Beoing AH-64 Apache)? That would've been interesting to see.
for battletrap, i just leave the tow arm extended and flush against the back of the shoulder. pretty much fixes them for me in robot mode, and theyre cool bc if you fiddle with it, you can get the wrecking ball on the weapon storage tab to simulate the chain for transformation, it IS problematic that it doesnt tab properly, but actually doing the transformation just isnt that bad once youve done it a couple times. i would say this review is accurate but slightly harsh in tone, hes just so fucking cool looking
I've gotta be honest, I've no issues with battletrap's transformation after figuring out the pattern to get it. The arms (at the shoulder) need to be shifted back as far as they can so that the spikes on the side of the arm line up *perfectly* with each other. And you can only do that *after* you've tabbed the shoulder panel into the thigh correctly. It's very tedious, but, once you figure out how he wants to work, it works like a charm and is a fun transformation
I’m gonna be completely honest, Battletraps transformation is the easiest for me. The arms just need to be pushed back into the cab on the elbow joint, and the bars holding the hook need to be bent inward to hold the hook together. My only complaint is loose arms but the transformation is fine for me. Bee on the other hand… those back tabs make me wanna throw it sometimes it’s so hard
Yeah when I got him 2 days ago,I couldn’t do it so I watched a video and it’s much easier you just rest the form tabs and then the very back tabs you just compress in your hands untile they come together so it’s easy now😅
I hope they do a blue and off-white repaint of Battletrap as a double homage to the G1 character and 07 Dropkick. The default color scheme is very cool as well not saying it’s not 👍
That Bumblebee is a definite must. Everything I want in a transformer as it looks good, is articulate, and durable. Good job Hasbro. Battle Trap I feel looks/poses great in bot mode but one you maybe transform once and never touch again. Also really like Freezer as the detail/paint is great and he can dual 4 lightsabers at once. As for the rest of the wave Scourge is already on preorder from Amazon as despite being a smaller Leader with some Q/C issues still is my favorite design from the movie in that it looks completely demonic. Also considering Arcee, as it's great to have her in humanoid/bike form similar to that of Energon/Prime.
Im not sure if a comment on this already exists but during the transformation for battletrap there are panels on the thighs that you’re supposed to flip around. This might help with the issues of the truck not staying together
I really don’t find battletrap’s transformation that bad, yeah it’s really involved, but it works together in a weird controlled chaos that just kinda works for me
I was able to modify my ss01 bee so the back could stay on with a pin. It was hell because I wasn’t sure if the backpack would break(clear plastic) but it was good at the end of the day. Highly recommend doing that just be safe and keep in mind yours may break
Here's a hypothetical question, how do y'all think these toys would have been handled if RotB didn't get delayed? Would nothing change? Or would we see some massive changes to the line?
@@k.m.sparks1190 yeah the toys are based on the concept art or how they would have looked in the movie honestly the movie probably got delayed for design changes
I absolutely love this bee figure, I loved it so much that I went back and picked up SS01x and man seeing how far they’ve come is amazing. Love SS01 but man is his transformation finicky and the panels love to pop off
Cheetor is the standout for me. Which is weird because I never cared much for the character even when I was a kid, but this one feels different and exciting. I also love battletrap. Mine isn't fiddly or loose at all. The shoulders tab in really well. The alt mode tabbing in is fine IF you have the arms positioned JUUUUST right. The arms are my only complaint about the figure in general.
I love how you describe the transformation of Battletrap: "Eh...meh...", etc. ;) Also, I LOVE that you're doing the transformation at normal speed, dude! Mad props for that! Even though it's not a full instruction video, it's still SO damn interesting to see and even though I definitely understand the messiness of the transformation, it looks interesting and quite okay to me...because I've transformed Revenge of the fallen robots. Don't ever do that. Just don't buy them. At least not the ones that were in the movie. The other ones are fine. I keep finding cool robots that BELONG to the movie franchise but they were never really visible in the movies, so the developers are free to make them much better, like Breacher and Wreckage.
Ha! I did not see the Grievous connection to Freezer until you pointed that out. And agreed, tapping the figure with a pen/pencil does not demonstrate plastic quality.
So, I think I have some gray epoxy in my toolbox, should I get Freezer, and mine gets a crack… Man, I usually don’t think “fix”, right away, when buying toys. Love the Grievous pose, though…
I haven't found the same issue with Battletrap's shoulders pegging in; mine small into place and stay pretty securely. I pull the door section straight out to detach rather than rotating since I had trouble getting them apart on the first go round. I don't like how the wrecker hook bits don't tab together at all, making the ball necessary to hold it together. It's not like accessories never get lost. And I agree about those same bits being in the way on the back of the arms. The best I've come up with is rotating them slightly so that angle outward just a little bit.
Man, glad I watched this, I was going to ether get Battletrap or Bee… I watch Chevtron’s video on battletrap and I thought the problems he had with it were just stolen pre release/QC sample… but yeah, Bee a solid deluxe that transforms into my dream car or battletrap that a soft plastic voyager that I’ve joked with my dad is basically if tow mater was a murderess robot… I’ll take Bee! Thanks you saved me (and my wallet) from buyer’s remorse.
Hi, I just picked up Studio Series Bumblebee online and everything about this figure is absolutely awesome and nostalgic to me, but is the problem with the tyres having a little too much friction in car mode. Is it normal for everyone or should I ask for a replacement unit?
Picked up Battletrap today. Haven't opened it yet, but I love the power of the primes Duocon. The box, and the figure, is huge from the outside, though. Rather big Voyager.
I recently got the running change variant of RotB Bumblebee where his face is more fully painted in. That was honestly my biggest issue with the figure when I first saw it, and now it's completely fine.
Huh? I thought the Airazor whose bird wibgs are partially incorporated into her robot legs was supposed to be the Studio Series one. And I hadn't heard about any form of the TFP Voyager Megatron mold having a bad transformation. Lookin' forward to your thoughts on Scourge when you get him.
YES FINALLY SOMEONE WHO UNDERSTANDS, the bayverse ss bee you showed, I have it and the transformation is HORRIBLE and straght pain. Though for my battletrap, I dont have the wierd thigh swivel click thing, I dont have the untabbing backpack problem as much as everyone else, I dont have the loose shoulder tap problem, and I dont have the truck cab side not tabbing in. So I guess Im lucky...
I bought my bumblebee at Walmart and toy is wonderful but the gun just was not in the box when I got home and opened it. I found the box hiding in the bottom of some other figures so I guess the gun didn’t stay in and fell out the box
I really recommend getting the studio series 01 because I have it and it really is good, the only bad thing is that the roof part of the car has a hinge and that hinge breaks
I plan to use Airazor as a cool upgraded form of BW Airazor. She goes so well with the Kingdom Beast Wars guys. I'll probably do the same with that Mainline Cheetor that's also a retool of his Kingdom counterpart
My question is did they fix the looseness in Airazor's legs and ankles? Because the kingdom Airazor mold family had stupidly loose leg and ankle joints and that lead to me not liking them as much as I thought I would. Though I did still buy all of them except golden disk Terrorsuar because he was way too hard to get ahold of.
Really hope the movie goes well. Bumblebee was great but tanked in the box office after the Transformers rep was tarnished from those latest Bay films… But if Hasbro can get enough hype going for it and it’s nearly as good as the first; then, we win these!
Broken opaque plastic on Freezer: I sleep. Tiny stress mark on clear plastic on Battletrap that's only visible *because* the plastic is clear: Real shit.
I wonder if there is a suitable in scale and build helicopter to make a custom of this Battletrap. I think I would use the copter for the legs and back (blade) and ROTB Battletrap for head and torso (and likely arms). Kind of the reverse of the Top Copter/Bottom Truck of the original; but I think it could look awesome.
I got everyone but scourge doesn’t far and I love them so much. Even arcee and freezer, who I was expecting to not like. All of them are fun and even if arcee isn’t that accurate, she’s still such a funny little motorcycle.
