I'm genuinely shocked they haven't done a Mario football ( the 🏈 football) game. If it were up to me a new Mario baseball or a revival in a way if Mario Spikers is what I honestly hope the next Mario sports game is. Considering 🏈 football is an American sport only that sport seems unlikely so Spikers or Baseball may be next

Normally i'm not interested of Mario sport games like Mario Tennis or Golf, but I love Mario and Sonic Olympic games series what i'm still sad and mad we haven't heard nothing about of Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Summer Games Paris 2024, I really hope it will be in the June's Nintendo Direct. The one reason I don't see "American Football" being one sport for a mario game is simple, it's just popular in the US. Mario Rugby? maybe, but I don't see it selling well outside the US. Mario strikers didn't get to two million in sales, so going for less popular sports is not going to be any better.

As much as I would love to see football, super sluggers is one of my favorite games of all time as a baseball player. I’d go absolutely insane for a new baseball. (P.S. about what you were saying about where Nintendo could go wrong with it, I could definitely see them only having like 10 characters in the game 💀. They did that with battle league, it wasn’t bad gameplay wise, it just seriously lacked content imo.)

I think a main reason we haven’t seen a Mario American Football game is because the sport is only big in the US not so much internationally. Nintendo probably doesn’t think the game would make much sense sales wise? That’s my guess

The reason why American Football hasn't been made into a Mario sports game is in the name. "Amercian Football", it only really appeals to Americans, so it wouldn't really do very well sales wise as the only people who would be interested in the game would be Americans.

Mario Golf: World Tour on the 3DS is peak Mario Sports IMO. That game had so much content, TONS of references to various Mario games, and full, actual DLC that featured every single stage from the original N64 game! Now that's how you do a Mario Sports game with substantial content!
