It’s Time To Start Mulching Your Lawn. 

Good morning, you should not worry about producing videos. You are a lawn care specialist, that's what pays the bills. I think based on the weather forecast just about everybody is going to have a hot dry summer. China and much of southeast Asia, is experiencing over 100-degree days and terrible drought. Here in the northeast USA we have had days in the 90's and the driest may in 50 years. I expect most of the agriculture sector to struggle. So, you get your money while you can. We will be fine. Ho Rob , we bought our Honda precisely because it mulches - we are ‘born again mulchers ‘ been mulching this year at many of the lawns we maintain for several weeks now (usually where the grass is reasonably short /managed but we had an lovely surprise today - lawn needed taming and we strimmed first , then mowed (highest setting) then moved down 1 setting at a time to last to 3rd setting - we were very happy .. & so was our new customer 😊. The heat my man! Yes the lack of rain is concerning but it's also beautiful and people are loving it. As gardeners we should prepare our gardens for this weather shouldn't we? Mulching is a game changer I think most are unaware of.

Mulched all my customer lawns this week with a new Weibang twice the lawns in half the time its been a revelation. Had to wear trainers as it so fast 😂 Keep on keeping on Rob.

You tube are a bit cheeky! adverts are Stihl robotic lawnmowers. There’s a perfect tool for every job and a proper mulching lawn mower has a good place for sure

June already 😬the year is flying by. Dry here too, could do with a drop of rain for sure

lot of one offs, people wanted their gardens tidy to enjoy the weather. pros and cons, i started cutting high at the beginning of the hot weather and looking decent still.

It's very dry in Nottingham.. don't want the rain but we need it 🤷👍🍻🤞

Hi Rob, so I finally started to use my rear roller two weeks ago, but after watching your video, I'm going to retire it to the shed for a while due to all the dry weather we are having and bring back out my good all round mower that mulches and your right it saves time and its quicker and helps the lawns, most of my customers would never of heard about a mulching mower so I don't tell them 😀 but I always leave the bag on so not to raise any suspicion 😜 keep mulching Rob and keep the bag on 🤫

It's extremely dry here in the southwest... Mulching is the way to go for sure 👍🏻

Mulching all the way mate, the grass is definitely struggling now. Stripes get put on hold on some lawns when it will do more harm than good.

Good video Rob just dont work yourself into the ground. To sharpen the blades is a small angle grinder with a flap sand paper disc on it. Gets it sharp and keeps the heat down so the edge stays longer

I have the same mower rob. I will be mulching on 80/20 ratio this week. Hopefully will help me get a few more cuts out of them

Really dry now in manchester some lawns turning crisp.. although morning dew in some areas seems to keep the grass growing alot hit and miss here

I'm down in cornwall and the grass is already looking like straw in a lot of the gardens as it hasn't rained since april. I've been mulching pretty much exclusively since I got the first cuts out of the way and you can notice the difference between those that have been mulched and those where they either cut it themselves or demand that it's bagged. I think it's going to be another hard year again this year, it seems to be getting worse with every passing year, the winters are dry and cold or absolutely flooding down and the summers are getting hotter and drier. We've also had a pretty much consistent hose pipe ban all year round for the last 3 years because Southwest Water are a complete joke and won't fix their infrastructure. To say it's hard going down here as a gardener would be putting it lightly.

Last and this year I mulch much as I can. Cut two ways then blow it. The best mulching mower is a husqvarna tho if you have the cash for me it the AS motor mulcher mower

Yes. I’m already worried about the lack of rain down on the Sarf coast. It’s seems that we’ve gone from permanently wet to bone dry with nothing in the middle. I’m already cutting higher and will probably be spacing out the frequency of cuts in the not too distant future. On a different subject I’ve picked up a couple of new build mows this year and the standard of these lawns are beyond garbage.

Rob where do you get the leaf picking tool from you talk about think you mentioned they were £20 .👍

One thing I've not got. A dedicated mulching mower. I can put a mulching blade on my weibang. But it's a pain in the arse swapping it back over. So do I invest in a dedicated mulcher? No. I've got to many mowers as is. So I'll just crack on with what I have. But next year I think I'll offer wetting agent treatments to hopefully keep the customers lawns, greener for longer. But I do think drier, hotter weather as a result of global warming is here to stay unfortunately.

Rob, do you offer weed and feed (or just feed) treatments for your customers? If so, how much do you charge and how often do you do it? I'm thinking of offering this as an optional extra or even giving some of my worse lawns a free go over, to try and prepare in case we have another bad draught down south this year.
