It’s too HOT for off-roading in Greece / Motorcycle trip Royal Enfield Interceptor 650

When I'm on tour, I time my day, so that I can find a tree, and take a nap in the shade with supplies at the hottest point. I keep a tarp handy for when there is no natural shade. Honestly, I can sleep anywhere, and enjoy doing so.

yep, riding in too cold or too hot is not a good idea. 😅 last year i was in zagreb 42 degrees. i stayed in internet cafe the whole day :D

Greece during summertime is too harsh for off-roading if not blistering. Always, taking into consideration that any off-road should be done with the appropriate gear. Enjoy your staying in Greece and stay safe and sound.

I have to say, that bike can take a lickin’ and keep on tickin’ like an old TIMEX watch! Let’s face it, you have been “beating the hell” out of that Royal Enfield!!! It really says a lot about the build quality of that bike. I personally have never ridden one and unfortunately I may never get the opportunity. I see that a lot of the comments mention wildfires which are common in Greece, so be careful out there and enjoy your stay! 👍

Take more breaks during daily trips in Greece specifically when it is above 35 Celsius. Many small villages with καφενεία, traditional coffees shops are good choice. Drink some greek coffee or frape!! Eat some greek yogurt or χωριατικη salad. Don't rush, be informed about wildfires don't enter forests right now because it is dangerous for fires, be safe.

Would really recommend one of those air play devices to be mounted on your bike instead of your phone.. The heat and vibrations will sooner or later destroy your phone.

Are you tracking the weather and any local wildfires as you travel? This information is readily available from many sources and will be useful in planning your day. Please do some research about how to survive out there riding in very hot weather. Advrider for one contains the collective experience of thousands of riders sharing their best tips. Bring plenty of water and bring a tarp and paracord to create shade when needed. Pour water slowly over your head to keep your hair wet inside your helmet, also keep your jacket wet, as you ride this moisture will create evaporative cooling. When your hair and jacket are dry wet them again and ride.

Everything that is more than 30 degrees C is a lot for riding. If you have to then it is OK, but rather avoid it if it si possible. Cheers.

I reside in SE Louisiana. I ride after 7 pm to just past dark. It's painfully hot to ride from about 10 am to 6 pm. right now. I try to ride a bit regularly to stay sharp for our fall riding season.

I've been riding the South of France this past week, and even with a mesh body armour on it's felt too hot. Dread to think how the heat felt in Greece...

" Pounding " that Interceptor ! I have the 2020 modle year .... great bike.. but I'm not going to off roading. Just did 1652 miles in the Dakota's here in the states.... flatland ... horizon to horizon... miles and miles .... thunderstorms ..some I was able to dodge. Keep rolling ! 😎

Tough stuff riding, or just being out in 40+ Celsius weather. It takes time to adjust to it

When it's really hot, I like to grab some water and soak my shirt. Then I put the moto gear on top of the wet shirt. It keeps me cool and comfortable as long as I have water on me (usually, I take a ton when it's hot). It helps massively. Cheers!
