@MRDavidmccomb I do agree, but wasn't this deal to build new nuclear power stations and upgrade existing ones already a done deal and signed off on? Truss never repealed it, nor Sunak and neither Starmer so what has happened to that happening? It's no secret it's the most efficient way to generate power in the quantity needed. It's a proven method, we don't live on tectonic platelines such as in Japan when Fukushima had a nuclear meltdown and we are 40 years on from Chernobyl with greater engineering techniques as well as much improved technology also. If we were to be attacked by another country our island home is so small it would be decimated by modern ICBM so its irrelevant that it may be targeted by any potential future foes. I don't understand what the Government and public hesitation towards going this way is, its a no brainer both financially and environmentally. We've demonised fossil fuels and the cost they incur transporting them go along with their carbon footprint going nuclear. Our beautiful scenic nation doesn't have to have 108metre high ugly wind turbines ruining it when at full capacity they can only generate enough power for 500 homes. The solar farms can be used for growing food for an ever-growing population like they're supposed to, rather than having farmland for solar panels and warehouses using artificial lights to grow food like is being done now.... the only reason we're not going the nuclear route or the fact its not even spoke about can only be because someone or some groups don't want it to be
