It Bites - Kiss Like Judas (Live) Tokyo 1989 

The greatest band in the world that no-one's ever heard of...

I saw them this same year open for Jethro Tull in OKC. Very memorable show.

It must have been the best time to be in a band in the 80s. 70s was all about concerts and being on the road for most of your career. 90s was a push for eletronic music and sampling. 80s was that sweet spot where you had a new outlet (MTV) for your music and your image, media like tapes and walkmen was taking off, then the late 80s new media in CDs. On top of that you could hit the road and not worry about being recorded on someones phone for any onstage antics.

The London AStoria Gig was fantastic! My French Girlfriend was over & WE went to see them - She fell in love with the music instantly

Unbelievably talented band, wonderful musicians and songwriters... Francis Dunnery deserves far more recognition than he's ever received.

The band every serious musician should know about!!! So so so good! They're all a class act but Dunnery was the was the man...what a front man! The new line up pales in compassion. Franks voice, tone and on stage personality is something you just can't replace. He was the icing on the most amazing cake! I wish I could turn back time. Music is seems so shallow and devoid of any personalities in comparison.

I saw them twice live at Hammersmith Odeon , totally brilliant! I had seen them on the old grey whistle test and was blown away. I had been dabbling with guitar whilst playing trumpet in a funk band! After seeing them on the whistle test I left the funk band to take up guitar and have been playing guitar in bands ever since! What an inspirational band.. so creative at the time when musicianship was almost frowned upon. Long live it bites music it will always be in my heart. Thank you x

Just started "Biting" a few weeks ago, amazed I'd never heard of this band before given their wonderful work. Map of the Past and The Tall Ships are both genius, and a large portion of their early stuff (like this) certainly shows their talent for writing hooky, infectious songs that get stuck in your head!

Amazing band and Francis is one of the most underrated guitarists!!

Saw them in '87 and '89. Remember Frank mouthing stuff at the audience at the start of the gig over the noise - my friend met him and it turns out it was a regular thing where he'd go "I'm fuckin' shittin' it!" Who remembers John gazing up at the ceiling as if admiring the paintwork? Or how about, "People of [....], I dedicate this chord to you all!" God, I loved them - and still do!

Unbelievable musicianship. Incredible. God I wish I'd seen them 'live'!!!!

As you might have surmised i just love this song and this version in particular. The whole DVD is fantastic though tricky to get but well worth the effort.

I saw Dunnery performing at a house concert on Long Island, NY this past weekend. Front row. Interesting.

You can also tell they had a great sound guy - you can hear how loud and crisp the vocals are out front, no hint of chirping or feedback. But most of all, what a great live band. I wish Dunnery and Beck could clear the air enough to do one more project together.

I was a big fan. Seen them loads of times in the 80. Me and friend blagged our way into a gig at Warwick uni. We pretended we worker for Yamaha. Got to hang out with the band which was great. Then the keyboard player said he was having trouble with his DX7 and could we help. Could be in trouble here we thought.....shit. Fortunately it was a broken key and I knew how to fix it......still got the broken key!!!!! Francis Dunnery then bought a drum machine off me......awesome.

Not sure about the design of most Japanese cars, but gosh these audiences over there are very welcoming to so many bands that are more or less ignored in their country of origin... Think for ex. Alcatrazz or It Bites...

Great band equally with FD & John Mitchell. Very clever song too. Shame Frank turned into such an odd ball. JM's incarnation album "The Tall Ships" is absolutely sublime !!

They couldn't get any traction in the markets. Their label tried to market them into various niches which never stuck. Besides that, I believe that Rolling Stones released a two-word review of EMISL: "It does."

Can only say the same as many on here - what a great band, so underrated and still fresh today. Have to disagree on Tall Ships though. Not in the same league as their earlier stuff - sorry John Mitchell who is a great muzo, but not right for this band.

remember it bites from there cumbrian working mens club days before they made it.class musicians frank dunnery copied his older brother baz.r.i.p thats why he is so good baz was a lot better than than frank he was that good he could snap a string on stage and tune it in while he played.he only went on stage with one guitar. john mitchel says he is working on a new it bites album .great song great band.

A talented bunch but it comes down to the songs; they just weren't good enough. Citing that reason though, how in the hell did Oasis become so popular? They were awful.
