Your motivation is unreal my dude. Keep it going! Digging the way the voice over commentary sounds now. Makes the videos feel that much more produced and put together!
So glad seeing Devin digging deep to get it all sorted. Also stepping up the production and filming will take this channel to the next level. Well done mate.🇦🇺💪
His motivation is his superpower and is his job. This is great content and just shows how anything can happen but you can still succeed if you keep trying. This car will run, and WILL be sick.
@jakesmith317 it's both. I'd say he knows 10x more about cars than alot of people, but also having a bunch of money to fix whatever breaks. You can have extensive knowledge about automotive repair, but not having the funds to pay for parts will get you nowhere. Dumping 100k on a type R is crazy, at least to me.
This gezzer is a one man bullet , engine blows a few days later engine rebuilt the energy the passion you show is incredible, looking forward to another Dino vid now
the absolute blood sweat and tears that you put into this car devin, is so unbelievable, me along with every single person that watches you is so happy that you're still doing this and not giving up. never stop man!
3:05 I am from Czech Republic. Central Europe. Is is our word what you was find .... I watching you for couple of years and have no clue whatsoever and I was thinking about VASYN name so many times. How you come to this name.... What was your inspiration.... ♥ from Czech Republic. We are pleased you was inspired by our word 🙂👍🇨🇿.
Dude ive been watching your videos for almost 2 years now and your video quality/videoaugraphy has gotten so much better. I can definitely see your channel making it big time. Much love
After following this channel for years it was quite refreshing to see a rebuild this fast, allthough I must admit I really enjoy the long videos where you explain every detail. It´s addictive to say the best. I blew the turbo on my ride a couple of weeks ago and will rebuild the engine, forge the internals and spice up the tune for about 300HP in a 1.6L engine in an european hatch(Opel/Vauxhall Corsa). After following all your builds and also getting some merch, the "she built" tag will find a home on my rear view mirror, once the rebuilt engine is back in. All inspired by this awesome dude, allways inspiring others to say: you can do this as well! Keep up the good work and good luck with the new engine!!
I hope you see this comment but on the k20z3 style pans like the one you are using the oil pickup on the pump needs to be lower. So you either need to run a z3 style pickup fitted into the oil pump, a unit2fab weld on extension, or a fd2(RRC) oil pump. Otherwise under hard acceleration especially being awd you can get oil starvation. Have to do the same thing with my k24a swapped 8th gen si.
Devin your drive n determination is something else. Thanks for breaking down the cause of issue n fix . I did think of ARP bolts n things . BTW why haven't you got a skunk2 billet side timing over. There is benefits to it not just looks. Fingers crossed 🤞 the fix that you did resolves it. Only cam go upwards n onwards💪🏾👊🏽👊🏽👊🏽. 🇦🇺
Dude the hard work is done , keep the faith at the end of the day its just another engine build , what you achieved till now is nothing short of amazing , keep going dude!
Bro I’m sorry that u are going through this but everything happens for a reason but don’t worry we the people are here with u for the long journey much love bro keep up the good work nd content
Awesome brother, that you didn’t give up on it. A lot of time and work to just quit! 😂 Blessings everything is going amazing! Can’t wait to see it done. 💯
You’ve done so much work put in so much time no way we are giving up now, your dedication level is insane and I know you’ll get this beast back on that dyno running properly keep at it devin respect.
It was worth checking the misalignment of the piston pins and connecting rods, since they were bent at high speeds and all the valves met the pistons, there were cases when they were also damaged
Hey Devin, Czech fan here! I've been watching your videos for more than a year now and I just wanna say that I love what you're doing and you (and some other RU-vidrs) motivated me to start working on my own car! Your story with Vasyn is cool but I'm sorry to disappoint you, you're reading the word vášeň incorrectly. The á is just a long "a" such as in "far, fa:r", the š is like an sh in "shine, ʃain", and the ň is like a Spanish ñ in "El Niño". Hope it's not too confusing for you and I also hope that Czech language didn't disappoint you! Keep up the good work my man.
Hey Devin just a quick heads up make sure you tighten that crank pulley bolt down I have a slight feeling it could of gotten loose because that pin/keyway isn’t really made to hold any load. The crank pulley is supposed to hold the timing gear tight against the crank with the torque of the crank pulley bolt. I can say if those fly wheel bolts loosened and make weird vibrations it damn well could of loosened the crank pulley bolt and allowed the timing gear to spin on the crank. I love the videos keep up the good work.
Where’s the forever home with the Dream Garage! Love the voice over to! Excited to see future builds!!! Awesome Channel!let’s go almost a Million Subs!!!
Bro you are an animal! Love your content and drive man. Such an inspiration. You will have knocked this one out of the park once you get it back together. Keep grinding brotha 💪
Yup! Drag cartel sells a crank gear for this exact reason when making high Hp! I only ever took my k24 turbo car up to 560…good luck with the build brother! Red loctite on the flywheel and just send it with the 1/2 impact!
Damn bro, that sucks. As another comment stated, though, your motivation is amazing. Keep grinding, and I can't wait to see this thing back on the dyno!
Bader is going to have to start telling people to check their flywheel bolts before coming to the shop. lol. Same things happened to Smeedia with his EG33 STi
Let's gooooo bro, I can't seem to understand what motivates you to be able to accomplish these kinds of daunting tasks. But all I can say is I hope to one day understand where that kind of drive comes from because I need me some of that, amazing work keep it up. I absolutely love the channel and the quality of your work, thank you for investing your time and making such great videos for us to enjoy.
Bro, i like how you aint afraid of shit when it comes to your builds. if things need to be done they get done. right to business. Ive watch your vids for many years.
You inspired me to work on my own car ,been following your channel since you were still building in your dads garage..you are the man bro..keep it up..❤❤❤
Good stuff doing preventive upgrades. Rip to the fact the CTR will now not be a 450 ish WHP daily driveable car any more. 😆 Fun add on with the voice over parts as well. I found that they were fitting in there really well.
Of course i loved the video. Too bad it was over so fast. Maybe it was meant to be that it broke cause now you have all these nice new upgrades 😙🤌and she is gonna preform 10x better. Great job on digging deep to get it done. That car is gorgeous. You honestly make it look so easy. Can't wait for the next vid.😁👍Also I'm sorry that happened to you car. 😢
ACT clutch loose flywheel bolts strike again. I wish more awareness was brought up about this because between youtubers and being in automotive groups this is about the 7th engine I've seen trashed due to the flywheel bolts backing out, and what do they all have in common? They all have a ACT clutch and I'm guessing they have balancing issues causing vibrations and the bolts to rattle out. Look into a different clutch brand and a diamond claw crank surface lock IMO. I hope you get it going again soon and the best of luck!
risk vs reward. Its your build along with time money. I would go with a conservative tune and not those long pulls. Drive it a few weeks let the bearings, rings etc set on drive and then go for the moon. I know the outcome based on the title but those long pulls deep into redline made me nervous. Glad it all worked out and enjoy the content Just my .02 and love my shirts and "10mm" socket.
Great Video as always wish I had a Lift I could make my boosted 8th gen Coupe Si much more complete all your videos gets me pumped on making more progress!
*Red Loctite and Copper Silicone on the Flywheel bolts will hold forever. You must Heat Gun the fly wheel bolts, if you put on Red Loctite and Copper Silicone because it will dry faster.*
Dang man. Stuck this happened. Glad you kept up the positive attitude though. If it makes you feel better, I built a Honda J35, went on the dyno, made 630 with a supercharger, blew it up 3 days later. Just finished rebuilding the engine and upgraded a few things again. Supercharger now needs rebuilding. 😮💨 this fast life is expensive lol
Give up? No way. This is one of the most interesting builds, and as much as I hate to say it... interesting failures. Watching this fallout video kinda excited to see tbh. Ghoulish, but still. Excited to see the build being fixed and stronger than ever. EDIT: Interesting on the flywheel bolts. Tanner had the same thing with bolts coming loose on his STI 6 cylinder build :( EDIT2: Great outcome. Well done on the rapid rebuild.
Hi good stuff. I think a Ati damper would have help you. Those are a must for any engine pushing out more than 300hp IMO. But hey i feel ya that sucks but good stuff bro. 😊
The voice audio is brilliant your more detailed in whats going on i would honestly say you could put this other two videos. Keep bring the video's bud sending love from uk 🇬🇧
I always Wondered why brand name Vasyn. Now that I see you got inspired by our word for your brand is awesome. Vášeň all the way ❤ Greetings from Czech
I could've told you it would've been HIGHLY unlikely that you would've had much salvageable internals unfortunately. Basically it was like you had the timing MANY TEETH off when the pin sheared. 8k+ RPM's letting loose in an interference motor= GOOD NIGHT. Only way any of those internals would've had a chance to survive, would be a very low rev/ RPM or even just idling, which would be extremely rare. Only failure I was able to catch in time, and get lucky on a was a customers EG hatch. Someone who previously "worked" on it, undertorqued the crank pulley, and from what I could tell, he didn't even install the woodruff key! Crank pulley fell off pulling into the Lowe's parking lot. 🤔😔 That was on my buddies "single-jingle" D16Y8 IIRC with a GT3071R, Hondata, valvetrain, porting, Synapse Ramhorn mani, etc etc. Put down a near even WHP/ WTQ around 380 with plenty more in it. These singles can be sleepers and I was impressed with the torque that was able to be pulled out of it. Honda motors are never as 'torquey.' All that from one of the cheapest long blocks to build up, so if something happens it doesn't hurt as much. LOL. 🙄
