Bmw k series Bikes are equipped with Inline engines. They are however slanted so they have the cylinder head pointing sideways. (Also helps with the Center of Gravity i guess)

That is not even the best of craigslist. There was literally a lawnmower rigged to a wheelchair for sale as a"homeade gokart". And the person really was serious. Gotta look at the low priced stuff. You'll find some real frankensteins in oregon in the low budget section of CL lol

A boxer 4 is what a vw or early gold wing is. That beamer is an in line 4 layed on its side with cylinder heads on left, crank on right, if I'm not mistaken. Tripolar out. A flying brick they tell me!

Yammie Noob ... I love my custom arctic camo (wrapped the bike myself), 2005 Triumph Daytona 600, it has about 120 WHP, the last time I had it on the DYNO, sitting at about 35k miles total on the odometer. The engine heads are ported and polished (did the head work myself). Full GPR exhaust, rigid ram air intake, instead of the rubber tubes used by the factory. Power commander with wide band O2 sensor, with custom fuel map (tuned myself on a friends DYNO) to improve fueling across the entire rev range. From idle to about 6k RPMs it is a nice smooth power delivery, so riding in traffic is easy, and not twitchy like a lot of older bikes can be. From 6k to about 11k RPMs it pulls strong, from 11K to about 14,500 RPMs the bike tries to pull your arms off and will lift the front wheel at WOT. The redline is limited to 15,400 RPMs... anything higher then that, and I start to get valve float. Overall a really nice bike to ride, and while not the most powerful bike... it is far better "feeling" and looks amazing then pretty much anything else I have see for the money... My first bike was a 1980 xs850. I loved that bike. 3 bikes later it’s still my favorite. Only reason I got rid of it was for new tech on a newer bike but always said if there was a way to put new tech on that bike it’d be a dream

Had a Ducati 750SS as a track bike for a while, a buddy has a 900SS as well, and another buddy raced SuperSports (latest build was an 800SS) in WERA and won a couple of titles on them. They are interesting, bare bones bikes. Not really performance machines, but they sound amazing. The older SuperSports have the dry clutch too, which is a bonus. Closest thing to compare it to would be a Gen 1 SV650s. The front brakes are probably the best part of the SuperSports, though... holy god do they bite.

Those old Yammer Specials were some very well engineered bikes. I bought a '79 Eleven Special 10 years ago for $700. Still have it, starts every time, and they're easy to work on and repair and very cheap to own. I hate it when people chop these up and make a turd out of the stock that was a well-built motorcycle.

Yammie noob although I love your videos, dame your laying the craigslist on think. I just bought my first bike. R6 yamaha . 2007 18 thousand miles I paid 3500 lol. It was the first bike I went an viewed, and I didn't want to shop. It's driving ,but when i push it hard I can definately smell some burning oil . I changed oil first day, but ya between the front brakes sucking, the back brake light not working, and having to take it all apart and clean it and get it all the tlc it deserves. I think i over paid . I bitching when i should be turning screws and bolts. I no. "Shit" I'm in dfw maybe we will run into each other some time

Just wanted to say i own a Daytona 650 and i paid 2700€ and it's a pretty good bike. It's a great bike, you feel it if the rear tire slides while accelerating out of the corner and it is very maneuverable. The throttle response is maybe a bit harsh so you need good wrist control in tight corners and if you are a strong breaker (like me) the rear tends to shake a bit but that ain't no problem, just lean in and trust the bike.

The BMW boxer-4 is an awesome engine. Grew up around bikes and now almost 40 years later I'd have to say the k-100 and k-1100's are the easiest bikes to maintain I've ever seen.

Well technically it is a FLAT 4... since the pistons run parallel to the ground... BUT it is not a boxer engine... since the pistons are NOT opposing each other... Basically the engine is an inline 4 which has been laid on its side, running front to back instead of side to side, like most "sports bikes"

I actually just picked up a 1989 Honda vtr 250 for 100 buckaroos! Runs great only thing it could use is some freshening up with the plastic. Perfect starter bike for a perfect price. I'm debating about building it and making it nice. Let me know what you would do with this. Should I sell it now or fix it and enjoy?

6:17 I don't know what's the market for ninjas 250 in the US, but that listing would be exactly what I would look for, a bike that needs an afternoon worth of repairs, a weekend at most, you save some cash and you are sure that what is done is done properly, because let's face it, if you would buy that bike you would be cleaning the carbs and lubing the chain anyway 12:00 they are actually pretty cool bikes, I am not the dualsport/adventure kind of guy, but if I could have a dedicated adventure bike the transalp would be it, 2600 seems on the expensive side, but for those conditions it's almost worth it

Correction the BMW K-series has a inline 4 but it is essentially on its side and that is the reason why they are called the flying brick because it looks like a brick from the side

Hey papa yam yams. I need some advice from your all knowing knowledge of all with two wheels. So, this summer, I bought my first dirt bike. It’s a yammie yz 125 1978. Looks great give or take some minor things. It needed a new spark plug and had Brand new wheels on it. Looks great and runs great. Takes most of the time 1 kick to start up. I bought it for 550. I know that you know almost nothing about dirt bikes, but since your fanny lube, and it happens to be a yammie, I thought you could share your all knowing knowledge to me , a humble mortal.
