wow what an unsettling game. Never played it before, but that intro with so many parallax layers, and that music seems very impressive. This game is trying to do so much stuff, It has car sections, knife fights, a map, that final maze fight with the ants, the pass of days concept. I can see being addicted to this game back in 1990
Top notch. Awesome games both of them. 12 year old me couldn't complete them at all - the stress of increasing peril got to me and the ant sound creeps me out till this day. Love the quip about the spelling bees! Thanks for another great video.
Love both ICftD games & played through both of them, multiple times. The knife fights with the G-men were awesome. Cinemaware made alot of excellent Amiga titles.... Defender of the Crown & Wings were 2 of my other favorites.
Love these Cinemaware games. Especially The It Came duology and SDI. They need a console release as well just to get the exposure out on these classics.
I played the first one but never the second. Was this a fully separate release or expansion? Tell you what though, some stressful memories in there. Those hospital escapes...viewing that one had me so on edge! Looked a bit close on some of the vertical antbusting scenes as well! This was great to watch, thank you.
I absolutely loved this game on my A500. This and Rocket ranger. Both impossibly hard but amazingly good. I never understood the slug on the couch arm though.
I'm glad someone else is as perplexed about the "slug" on the couch arm as I am! I've never been able to work out what the heck it's supposed to be...all I see is...a slug.
@@AL82RetrogamingLongplays almost 30 years ago i pondered the same thing..... why is there a slug on the couch arm? then it came to me... its KNITTING! The two knitting needles look like a slugs antennae
@@weaselstoatWow I think you’re right. Haha no lie it’s slightly bugged me for 30 years… why a slug??? But knitting makes sense. I can finally file this one under ‘solved.’
I played both of them back then…basically a text adventure with graphics, sound and some interaction. I liked the „Formicula“ style - but it literally took ages to proceed. Not my cup of…😉
@@TexasHollowEarth Yes Sir! It stole countless hours of my youth. I played it with a friend every Sunday and we even followed a solution in the „Amiga Joker“ Magazine to get to the point. It is funny you can walk around in a town an randomly stab people - when you obviously have a gun…😑 Flying around was kinda fun but for me the ICFTD line sucks…😝
How much ammo does he have? How many grenades is he carrying? WHERE DID HE GET THE FLAMETHROWER?! But seriously, 98% of the time I was just thinking, "How would I know to do that!?" Great job!
In the first game "It came from the desert I" it's mentioned that the flamethrower is from the gas station guy. Also the weapons are from the military. I think he never needs more than 20 granates but yes he has to carry really a lot of them 😆 but the game is difficult enough so I was happy not running out of ammo 😁
1:30:00 ff Played this one a few times & finished the 1st part often. About 30 years after playing Ant Heads for the 1st time i recently found out why i never managed to open the safe despite having all 3 numbers: You need to move the code wheel at least 1 full round before you select the 1st number.
You don't have to be scared, they are just Ants. Even if they are bigger than you, they are still just Ants. You have a boot, they don't... Now get'em Champ!
I skimmed the video so I must've missed something.. I don't get the whole concept of shooting off their antennas instead of just killing them.. Like the mayor transforms twice(?) and he just lets him live? What a goofy game.
The ants are a sort of psychic hivemind, even if they have infested/hijacked the humans via implantation at the hospital, killing the queen stops the hivemind
