The first thing I noticed when he flipped was that he didn't put his leg out to catch himself which is awesome. I don't know if it's from experience or he was just hanging on for dear life but it was the best thing to do. Lol👍

I had a rollover on an atv a few months ago... was drifting around in the mud and my tire caught some dry grass... i came out unscathed luckily.... it looks like i flipped the same way as the guy that flipped

Holly! Freak me out, I can’t believe that guy wasn’t hurt, or did his pains show up later? Im a snow rider but TAME compared to you all. I try my best to go fairly slow and stay in high 2wheel drive going down hill on ice. If I feel a slip I give a bit of gas when I feel I’d like to use the brake or let off on the gas. It’s backwards way to drive but I’m glad you posted. I ride alone most of the time thus I’m the queen of riding like I’m on an old tank with my Xp 1000 2 up. Great stability for me. Probably know this a long time ago... those tires are not meant for any slick surface. Doesn't take much for a mishap. stay safe

I couldn’t get a good look at the tire but it appeared to be mega mayhems? Anyways not the best snow and ice tire. The real fail is manufactures doing 4 wheel single lever brakes, it’s good in general situations but the engine brake coupled with the rear brake power is what put him in that position. I had a Polaris with an extreme engine brake, you’d let off the throttle and lockup the back tires, some times even on pavement! It made the path to my back 40acre lot dangerous as hell, it’s a 1/8 mile 42-50* incline with a little side hill action. The Polaris would drag the back tires since 4 wheel engine braking is “optional” so any large hill to control the decent you’d ride in down in neutral and modulate the brake lever which still liked to drag the back end at times. For novice riders that situation can get you killed easy. They should outlaw 4 wheel brakes or at least make a system with a 3rd lever (left hand) for 4 wheel but have front (right hand) and rear (right foot) independent for those situations you need to split modulate. Personally I’d prefer split brakes in general but with actual 4 wheel engine breaking such as can am, Yamaha, Honda, CFMOTO, and Suzuki that’s not as big of a deal. Y’all get my point though. Appeared the rider in the video was in 2wd, engine brake started to lockup the back a little and the moment the touched the brake it locked up the back totally and the RF wheel was on a dry patch so it pulled right and rotated him.

I was unfortunate tonight went along the edge of a ditch and tried to back up the same path and the ground must of slid or I turned the steering too much and over into the ditch it went the way it landed I was able to get from under it easy but it’s heavy trying to flip up a rubicon 500 I have to winch it forward a little to get it in a spot where it would roll easier as I was on my own the plastic got bent a little too bad it’s still a new machine less than 600km

The rider who flipped could have literally done nothing when it started sliding and not have flipped. It was grabbing the breaks like an idiot that landed the quad on top of him.
