“As my brother, I hope you give him another chance. As my best friend I will never speak to you again if you choose to be with him again” just finished the book and cried like a baby. I cannot wait for the movie
@@bdj12202 - I'm sure the book doesn't spoil everything in the 1st page. You have to read it & take the journey just like watching a feature-length film.
@@CARTOONIVERSE1 grow some thicker skin because I wasn’t mocking you . God damn. If you didn’t want someone to reply to your comments maybe don’t comment something stupid next time? You clearly didn’t read the book, and it’s based off the authors life story. Your username has cartoon in it , so saying you should stick to cartoons is not offensive. Seriously grow some thicker skin if you think that’s making fun of you 😂 “mocking” hahahah you’re hilarious!!!
YES! BREAK. THE. PATTERN! I grew up watching & experiencing violence. I married a man completely opposite of my father. I swore my children wouldn’t grow up the way I did, and I would never be treated that way again. 💜
Not to bash the actors, but if you have already read the book, you will tend to compare the movie with it for every single detail. Blake Lively might be an amazing actress and she is beautiful but her maturity still shows. She just doesn’t feel like a naive young woman, figuring her way out in life. Those who never read the book might like it.
Because coollen hoover likes using the most naive little girls to worship SA and abuse, amazing for u people. Its good that older women can also be naive, but u people dont realize that, its amazing how brainwashed u peolple are
All you saying the actor Brandon Skelnar who plays Atlas isn't hot...watch him in Taylor Sheridan's 1923 show...their scenes are giving "Out of Africa" vibes which had the yummy Robert Redford in it. Good Lord 🔥😍🔥 is that man fine, rugged, and one EXTREMELY manly, hunky glass of water. He plays a big game hunter after he got PTSD in WWI where he was originally from Montana at his multi-generational family ranch...yYellowstone. Instant hot chemistry with the girl, whose character is English aristocracy and is a Countess, who plays his love interest/wife. Google Spencer and Alex -1923. Blake is way too old to be playing a 24 year old. Come on, honey, who did you think you were fooling; it's like SJP in the horrifically trash SATC movies . She needs to accept she's way past the ingenue just like Anne Hathaway, Margot Robbie, Emma Stone, Emily Blunt, etc. They need to realize that while 38-45 isn't old at all, especially with the TONS of plastic surgery from head to toe in addition to all the cosmetic procedures for (just alone) skin--all different lasers and tightening devices, special facials, peels, microderm, Botox, fillers, Ozempic, teeth/veneers, hair, along with the trainers and chefs and glam squads(--Blake has has a crazy amount of work done like upper & lower blepharoplasty, brow lift, nose jobs, boob jobs, chin, cheekbones, buccal fat), it's Hollyweird's beauty and ageism standards. Don't know much about the actor who plays Ryle but he is gorgeous with an incredible body.
I never read the book, and I understand your point she acted so timid and soft but looked so mature, it didn't fit I could not understand why she acted like a shy highschool teenager. Spoiler : There's a scene where she's like , I thought we were friends, why were you looking at me like that, why are you following me, stop following me ! Whatever..., that seemed weird exactly because a viewer will think why will a grown ass woman say that ?! You know..!
idk why this made me cry. i know a lot of people hate on the book, but for me it has special place in my heart. and suddenly hearing and seeing the scenes and not just reading about it really hit me. side note: i love lily, she deserves the world.
I absolutely understand you. i just don't get it when ppl say the author has romanticised abuse in the book........ i do not agree personally. If anyone's been in a toxic nd abusive relationship....they know how hard it is to break the pattern nd leave it all behind. Its a terrible vicious cycle..... the person says sorry, u keep giving them chances and change never happens. And it gets extremely hard to come out of it. But when you do fix ur mind to come out..... You never look back. I personally feel.... Hoover has done a beautiful job portraying the minds of both...Abuser as well as The Receiver. So only ppl who have been in such relationships....wud get the book, the characters better. Otherwise ppl will just keep on nagging how the story is shitty n all. And yes! Lilly and Atlas deserves the world together!!! 💗🌷
@user-ox1de9eg3f when choosing an actor they can choose if they want to portray the character as healthy or not. But to fit the descriptions of the books these actors should be swapped around Acting is the only job where along with talent. It is about looks
I don't understand why people are being so negative about the character choices. Each one of us has a different picture of Lily, Ryle and Atlas based on our imagination. What's important is that they are telling this beautiful story and the emotions that these actors are showing are true. I feel this movie will live up to it's expectation based on the trailer. And frankly, I am glad they chose more mature actors than people in their 20s for example. These actors are able to show the rawness of the emotions because they chose really good actors to play the parts. I'm super excited for this one!!
Colleen admitted herself that she didn’t get the ages right in the book. That she should have made them all a bit older. And I personally feel more comfortable watching people slightly older than me in those situations rather than people in their 20s. I feel like I can feel it deeper then, even though I went through two abusive relationships in my early 20s
@zahra2k2 echoing your thoughts! I am not a big fan of romantic movies but I don't understand what people are complaining about here? Just because the new world defines feminism in particular ways now, all of a sudden people want to decide how it is defined in stories.. As long as something like DV is not glorified, and the actors are doing a fine job, whats with the complaints!? The intensity at which each person defines their tragedies and responds to it would be different. Even a director's/author's vision for a character would be different. Why do people want to fit every woman character into some sort of feminist mould defined by new-age thinking.. Let people be people, characters be characters.. Diversity in personalities is so much more empowering than being string puppets!!!
"One day you'll have a daughter"??? Nooo, does that mean the scene at the hospital with Emmy won't happen? That conversation between them two breaks my heart!
I think it is a voiceover for the trailer. We don’t see her saying the “if you had a daughter”, we see her asking “what would you say to her” and they could be holding the baby. It would also explain why their faces take the whole screen-they don’t want to spoil this information in the trailer
I’d give the actor who is playing Atlas a chance. There are so few clips of him here. I mean have you seen him as Spencer Dutton? Anyway, it’s not the actors I’m worried about, it’s the storyline.
Im quite disgusted by the negative comments and criticism of the film. It takes a lot to write a book in such depth of domestic violence. Let alone the movie, in which was absolutely powerful. Having once been in a domestic violence situation, that nearly ended my life--- the violence doesn't start with violence. It's an escalating pattern that eventually shatters the cage of the monster of a person you thought you knew. This movie had me choking back tears. Because it was so beautifully compiled together, regardless of the controversy. I too had a friend, who rescued me and picked me up one day, I was black and blue and he took me in. Id buy every book and nail polish and whatever Colleen Hoover wants to write or produce. I'm definitely buying the movie. I hope that the author, the producers, the actors and actresses and all those apart of this are not discouraged. Beauty rises from ashes. This movie displays a glimpse of what I went through and it's not glorified by all means. Everyone needs to back up. My arms are sketched with roses and flowers and sayings, that cover scars from clinging to what I thought was my last breath. Til you've been through it, sit down, be humble.
I cannot believe all the negative comments here about the cast, saying Blake Lively is too old when shes all of 36 years old!!!! Saying Ryle is supposed to be hot, so implying Justin Baldoni is not hot is so wrong. And then complaining about how Atlas is supposed to have blue eyes when Brandon Sklenar does in fact have BLUE eyes! Some people will bitch about anything 🤦🏼♀️
Exactly what you said!! I just finished the audiobook and it feels right knowing that Blake is playing Lily, I have such a girl crush on her hehhee. I waited to finish the book and now watched the trailer and she is the right Lily! Her excitement and sadness portrayed is just the way Blake does in any of her roles for the role!! Atlas is cute 😍 😂, cuter than Ryle
We love blake but you know the book has this certain description about the characters. Because of that people wanted someone younger to play all these characters. Definitely all of them are beautiful regardless of their age, but sorry to say they look around mid to late 30s. And the characters are supposed to be in their early mid to late 20s. I hope you get the point. ❤
"We break the pattern or the pattern breaks us." ... It Ends With Us- Exactly what made me take such strong decision.. I happened to find this book right after my separation, gifted it was. Never knew that it will hold my own story and mindset inside. ❤
I am pooks I swear i think its good but the only problem is how they casted alysa, marshall, ryle and atlas If they casted them right then i would be perfect but oh well😂
I wish they used another actress for Lily. Blake Lively doesn’t give off innocent/calm sweet girl vibes - not how I imaged her. I imagined someone who looks like Joey King. Because she has an innocent child face and place a role of a young girlfriend better. It would feel more realistic like the book. Blake Lively looks more powerful and dominant than how I would imagine Lily. It’s almost like Blake and the guy actress are friends not lovers
Yes!! I imaged her voice to be higher and more feminine, and overall just look younger. Aswell at Atlas, he’s nothing like I imagined in my head but I’m still exited to watch.
As a bookworm who always wants to read the book before the movie, I hear you. As a survivor of DV for most of my life, I appreciate the message that they’re aiming for.. this happens to all women, even older more successful ones.. imho
I see y'all making these negative Nancy commentary like you know the rules of writing a movie from a book. She loved the book and it was a labor of love, I'm SUPER excited to see it! ✌🏼💛
i wonder if she gets pregnant in the movie, bc in the book the scene with ryle and her when she ask what would he say to his daughter she had just had the baby, but in the scene she asked if he had a daughter 1:50
This is one of the most interesting books I've ever read in my life and the seen of ryle kicking the chair is just as I've imagined i need to see this movie
Ik everyone is saying the characters don’t match (I agree) but the film looks promising! They gave the scenes so much justice and even though the characters don’t match physically, i believe they’re going to deliver attributes of the character
I read this book in Turkish a few years ago. The actors don't give off the vibe of the characters. Especially Ryle and Atlas. The actress chosen for the role of Lily looks a bit suitable because of her red hair. I don't know why, but this movie seems completely different from the book.
I Can't believe it's officially happening🥳🥳.....I don't know about casting but I looooooovvvveeeeee this book.....I read this almost 4 times but still I can't get over it....this is a phenomenal book✨✨.....l would love to watch this ♥️♥️
This news literally has made my day. This is my all time favorite go to book. 😭💜 Even rn I'm reading this for the 5th time. 💞 Hoping for a good outcome of this movie. This is my best birthday gift god has given me. Exactly 4 days ago I was thinking " I wish someone would have made a movie of this story.”
Just reread BOTH books and I'm so excited about this movie! Books are always better so you have to read it first and just not be so analytical about the movie. ✌🏼💛
Anyone else sick of seeing this triggering trailer 30 times while they are watching other videos. I rather not see a woman get hit every 2 minutes when an add comes through.
Okay let's be real, it's watchable. More than we expected and I think it's better than 'watchable' probably. I'm truly surprised because they didn't choose the right cast but made it soo good... like how we almost saw it in our imagination... definitely watchable I guess...
I'm currently reading it...I'm on 25th chapter.... And man the shit is real....the emotions you feel while reading it and just trying to imagine is simple too much.....and it's my first novel ever....I just give it a go and I don't how the hell I reached to 25th chapter in couple of days only....looking forward to see Adeline Bowman or should I say Blake Lively❤
@@dreznoryorkekeenanbuckley2226 bro just keep it real. she is clearly above thirty-forty while lily was in her twenties. The cast of this movie is absolutely nonsense. And now you are thinking who the hell am I to judge ? Well so read the other comments too, you will get your answer.
Anyone who faces similar situations in real life knows that this is not how this ends. no one has a backup guy/savior. its mindboggling how many people drink up this toxic story.
It’s not real life though, it’s entertainment. There are a lot of us who aren’t feminists. Just regular people who enjoy a good story that includes a male hero. At this point everybody and their mother knows this story includes DV, so if you’re the kind of person who gets “triggered”, you can chose to not watch the film. I’ve personally experienced a lot of trauma, but I don’t get “triggered” by media and entertainment. You can’t lump all trauma survivors together, people have different reactions and different ways to cope. Personally, I enjoy this kind of “toxic” story. Again, it’s ENTERTAINMENT. I’d rather watch a story with a compelling male hero than one with a “strong independent woman who don’t need no man”…that’s just my personal preference. 🤷🏼♀️
Wonder if the next movie will be about how she keeps the ex boyfriend in her life and his number and hides things from her current boyfriend and gaslights him to make him go crazy or how she is trying to keep two men in her life at the same time and not being honest about anything ? Cause that’s always a wise move and not abuse at all right ?
THIS IS ABSOLUTELY THE WORST CAST I HAVE EVER SEEN IN MY ENTIRE LIFE!! Me and my friends were so thrilled to watch this movie, but once we saw the cast, We're crying in a corner
Im glad I read the book before watching the movie. Oh, i mean the spoiler. You know, the commercial.... that literally tells the whole damn story. Thanks. Dont have to go see it now.
