Urabrask and Sheoldred are like the 2 people who say they hate each other but are actually friends

I like he’s lower to the ground and can seem to flip a lot. Like some red ramp.

The third turn you get the front side back, so actually it does give you mana to cast the spells with, which can easily allow you to flip it again.

By my knowledge Uraboi ain’t dead, but he could use a hand…and the arm…and another arm…and two legs

19:32 correction about Grafted Exoskeleton. TL; DR It works fine. (I know you’re using “flip” colloquially but I’ll try to stick to official terminology to avoid confusion to any that see this) “Flip” cards are two cards in one with a diagonal art partition on a single card side. You rotate the card 180 degrees. They don’t change zones. Transform cards flip from front to back side and change zones if it says “exile then return transformed”. Sequence: 1. Urabrask’s activated ability is put on the stack, resolves and exiles Urabrask and returns it to the battlefield as the Great Work enchantment. *Game would treat this as a new, unrecognized permanent regardless of whether it transformed or not. 2. As Urabrask is exiled and changes zones, Grafted exoskeleton unattaches and triggers it’s triggered ability to sac the permanent it was attached to to go on the stack. 3. The Exoskeleton’s ability tries to resolve, but it can’t sacrifice the previously attached permanent because it has changed zones and is no longer recognized by the game as the same permanent upon re-entering the battlefield. The ability fizzles as it’s unable to be carried out.

What's really disappointing is that Urabrask was originally leaked as the red version of Phyrexian Obliterator.

My personal favorite of the praetors lore wise! So good to finally see him getting some love.

I love it so much, the best part is when you get access to the graveyards, urabrask flips so you deal one damage and add red for each!

Comboing Urabrask with a few Chandra planeswalkers aswell is going to let you generate alot of mana and dmg on single turns. Free ramp with Strike it Rich, free card draw with Light up the Stage and so on.And if a chandra and urabrask stays on the battlefield for more then one turn o geez...

I love how in the end, Urabrask is the best Praetor commander.

Urabrask is the coolest Praetor imo. Hopefully i pull one of these so i can make a deck around it and various Imprint/Sentinel Tower cards

Wow, an amazing card to play in a Red/Blue Treasure deck or a Mindsplice Apparatus deck.

honestly i expected extra combat steps from urabrask for so long then the downside would be skipping combat step of the opponents that'd be powerful yeah but it's atleast the "power" you'd expect from a preator

OMG this is going in my Veyran deck

Urabrask makes my power of 3 mono red burn deck absolutely broken. It basically makes it where the deck is able to nuke multiple players without having to worry about running out of cards anywhere near as much. My power of 3 burn deck is able to kill most players on or before turn 3 and those it can't typically don't last past turn 5. Before turn 5 the deck is able to start dealing 60 damage a turn.

any suggestions for making a commander deck with him as the commander? this video gives me a good idea but most moxfield decks aren’t budget, and I’m a newer player who doesn’t really understand how I should deck build

This is honestly the best urabrask printed, I wish the other versions of him were this good or as good in general as the other preators

So, you get the three treasures, next turn, you play lets say 3 spells from graves with the help of those treasures, flip to urabrask, pay 1 and flip again. This is brutal, im loving it.

Would you actually have to sac Urabrask on flip with grafted exoskeleton? Because it exiles him first before the flip so the exoskeleton shouldn't have anything to force sac.

This somehow manages to be both a better and more fair commander for a dragons approach birgi deck I played a while ago. Costing 1 more stops the deck killing turn 1 with perfect hands and far less likely on turn 2 but the effects, both front and back, do far more for the deck then just speeding it up... Good times.

Hmmmmm This card actually might be just a better version of birgi in cedh. Birgi is only ever used for it's ability to create red mana and urbrask does that and also pings opponents which would make it easier for him to kill opponents over birgi. Birigi usually needs 3 cards to win, but urbrask here can win with just two.The biggest question is whether the one extra mana in the cmc for urbrask matters, but in cedh where getting loads of mana early isn't a issue. I don't see the extra one mana being a big deal.

Urabrask is the one of 2 praetors who isn't definitely dead. Norn had his limbs torn off, but otherwise deliberately left him alive. Sheoldred was killed by Norn via decapitation (and it's Norn, she's make sure it was permanent this time). Vorinclex was killed by a no name Zhalfiran soldier after Teferi slowed the praetor. Norn was dismantled completely by Karn. Jin Gitaxias got tossed into his own war machine after another no name Zhalfiran soldier thrashed him and is only presumed dead.

Anyone know any single I/S cards that could cast enough times to trigger Urabrask? I want to throw him into my saga deck but I feel like I'd never flip him...

torbran and mechanized warfare will 100% be in my 99

My veyran deck is very happy, throw in an inexorable tide and you can go infinite pretty easily

My first thoughts are how, in mono-Red, this could work great with the treasure making Rummage cards like Big Score, Pirate's Pillage, or Unexpected Windfall. Urabrask refunds them even more, they fill your grave, and you want the Treasure to cast your opponents' Spells. Could be some budget tech options (well, Score's over $1 because it's an instant, but you get the idea.). Similar story for the also treasure refunding Inspired Tinkering. Oh speaking of budget mono-Red budget cards, Volt Charge is one of only 2 mono-Red proliferate Spells and it just so happens to be a burning Sorcery; right up Urabrask's alley.

You didn’t name not one of the phyrexian mana cards like a gutshot , dismember or marrow shards

Flipping urabrask with exoskeleton on wont sacrifice him. It exiles then returns so the sacrifice trigger will fizzle as the permanent that was urabrask no longer exists

A reminder: The Great Work is also graveyard hate, because if you cast non-perm spells from your opponent's graveyard, they get exiled. They gone for good. This card is cracked

Just play arcane bombardment and go crazy. Every spell you cast gains you increasingly more mana, damage and eventually card draw

Krark, the Thumbless, cast a 1 mana spell, add a red and ping from Urbrask, flip a coin, oh no! Its tails! I guess I return it to my hand, and recast it for the mana it gave me, pinging and adding another mana! My spells WILL be copied.

Two things, first up all I can think of is how nasty this will be in a deck with a ton of cantrips. Second, anyone else waiting to see what they do with Karn? He got the might and weak stones removed so he’s not a planeswalker anymore for the moment, I really hope they make him into another colorless commander

No "Ubrask could go into the 99 of following commanders"? Feather would be a great commander to use Ubrask in the 99. Red cards in Feather become close to free. Ubrask is another pinger. And with the transformation we get a 3 damage onesided fieldwipe more mana and a way to recast spells that were cast before Feather was on the battlefield. Having chapter three active in Feather can help a lot and allow Feather to play less restricted by waiting to only cast spells when Feather is in play.

So every spell gets you 1 red mana ?
