I don't believe the nitrogen is used for cooling, hence the heat exchanger to warm it up as it is used as a gas. It's probably used for some process that requires an inert gas environment, perhaps in the production of scratch cards or some other process.

I think they are printing scratch cards there. The latex solution they use in the printing of the hidden panels on the cards needs to cool rapidly hence the use of the LN2

If they've got a lot of computing power in the back end (servers etc) then that generates a crap ton of heat. They've possibly using that gas to cool the server room(s).

I suspect that’s a a large data centre with liquid nitrogen cooling. Almost certainly their Europe based data services… understandably jumpy, but that sort of response only ever brings in more. Just be polite, say you’re a data centre and be polite… not difficult. You have more patience than I do, PJ! 😁👍

Disagree. No data centre uses liquid nitrogen cooling. Air is enough and doesn't cost a huge amount.

@@Benny10001 No not common. Its only used for major data centres, not little ones serving a little company. And the liquid tends to be water, not nitrogen which is used as a gas, not in it's liquid phase.

This is NOT a data centre (granted there will be a small server room for all the industrial control / SCADA stuff). This is a scratch card maker and warehouse, the liquid nitrogen will be for the process of creating the scratch cards, probably applying the scratch off foil part.

They could be running servers for Crypto Currency Mining, liquid nitrogen would be ideal for CPU cooling, but most likely cooling for their gaming servers.

Then being only security they do not have the slightest clue. So they are frustrated and claim it's all hush hush. It makes one see how downtrodden they must feel. Nothing to do with online gaming anything requires liquid nitrogen. I've been making videos games, mobile games and online products for 40 years now - and I assure you nitrogen has nothing to do with software development. Watching from North Vancouver, Canada. Thx for sharing. Jules.

It's a data-storage centre. They need the liquid nitrogen to cool down the massive processors in there. These places are dotted over the land but most are in the Irish Republic and some are like Fort Knox. Never seen anyone auditing one of those. The biggest is south west of Dublin and has several liquid-nitrogen storage tanks. All can be seen with google street view!

Amazing how abrasive these people are to the public in these scenarios - how do they not know you could be a customer of their services? They can see you are recording and you’ve mentioned you get considerable views off your content yet they continue to present very poorly and defensively. From a PR point of view I’d have thought that being friendly and answering a few questions off you would come across favourably 🤷🏼‍♂️

They also do the prepaid sim cards for phones etc used to pick them up from SG in Leeds to a distribution hub in Birmingham way sim cards came in £10 £20 £50 £100 and boxed by the thousands per box We had 1 box go missing once and it wasn't until the lorry got back that it was found stuck under the top of the roller doors on the lorry where it had fallen and been pushed up to when they opened the back door, was funny as fek watching them running around looking for it at the hub as it was stuck on top of the roller doors on its way back to Leeds lol

One thing I'm always told when I start a job is that you have to realise that everything you say whilst working reflects on the company, so always be polite, professional and never give a negative reaction. To create a bad image for the company is a disciplinary offence. I've had the public pester me whilst working in public and have never told them to piss off. Seems that some people don't care about their employer or their jobs.

Liquid Nitrogen is probably used to cool the Servers that host the Websites. Because they have so many users they get very hot. The Security will be tight due to the servers as they will hold all the User information and the ££$$ that all those accounts hold.
