My mom was the first female tool and dye maker in our state. This was back in the day when it was dominated by men and woman rarely broke in. Anyway she would come home with thick callouses on her hands after her long days of working in the shop and she swore the only lotion that worked was the Corn Huskers lotion. Seeing you grab that brought back many memories! ❤️
Oh my gosh! We had lots of horses growing up requiring tons of barn work, all year regardless of the weather. Corn Huskers was THE go to! Worked magic. Thanks for reminding me of my horse filled youth.🥰
Tip for the Garnier micellar water, it works pretty well on eye makeup if you put it on a reusable cotton round and hold it to your eye for 10 seconds or so, then gently wip away the make up. Gets almost all my eyeshadow in the first swip, then I'll go back and gently wipe at the rest or heavier mascara.
Yeah, I thought I heard somewhere that the micells work a specific way with cotton pads. I might be totally butchering this but I feel like it was explained that the "tails" stick up from the cotton pad to grab more stuff off of your face.
I would love more shop with me videos! Seeing your shopping preferences, your interactions with your sister, and your first hand reactions are such a relaxing and personal experience!
Hi Cassandra, I like this kind of video seeing your reaction to products first hand and a bit more about you. It's kind of funny knowing your first impressions and side comments 😅 when trying new products. But what I really liked was how honest you are by not just giving us a glamorous version of you trying the products, like you really tried the products like any of us do. So thank you for being so raw and honest, sometimes these kind of videos from other people just look so fake. Thank you for your work and your help 🥰
I like that Cass reacted to Dr. Dray's routine (where she's in the shower) with something like "Oh, she is very naked" but now Cass has the courage/confidence to do a shower video too! I love that these ladies can be comfortable with their bodies and show us their shower routine while still keeping it PG. I would never have the confidence to film myself in the shower even with it just being shoulders-up only haha!
I think Dr Dray is not comfortable with her body, she eats a very calorie restrictive diet and exercises like crazy, she looks too thin to me. That suggests she isn't happy with herself physically.
Hey butterfliesssss excited to share this adventure with you!! Please note that this was filmed earlier in the summer when masks in stores were not required or expected, this was before the resurgence of Delta but still, as we know now it is important to wear our masks even if we are vaccinated as we could still transmit or contribute to spreading. Please note that when re-watching and editing this video, I also got terrorizing goosebumps when I realized how long I had let the shower run before I turned off the water, even if it is a low flow showerhead! I appreciate your beautiful butterflies and I hope that you enjoy this video!! I think you did the best you could. We sometimes try to give such an honest opinion of things we think that the background is just forgotten. IMO yes we got things flying in the air but remember staying healthy is also a way of not only carrying for yourself but also others :). Mask less or with mask I was not offended, I know you’re always trying your best. As someone who was working with a clinic mid panda, you try your best and do what you think is right. Not everyone will agree with you, either you wear a mask or not. Love ya!!!!!
Nestlé owns over 2 000 companies. Even if you tried, it is almost impossible to avoid them. Garnier is still a company for their own with their own philosophy and morals.
Now I know at what time you post videos, thanks to my insomnia. It’s 3:00am in Montreal 😂. Thanks for your amazing work Cassandra, I’m now skintellectual!
I feel like micellar/cleansing waters work better with cotton rounds. If you soak a cotton round with it and hold it by your eye area for about 10 seconds, it does a better job. I’m not sure if you’re just trying to be more sustainable and use your hands, but maybe try a reusable cotton round?
I've never used micellar water without cotton pads and felt bad about the waste it creates. Seeing Cassandra use it this way and it working is amazing; definately going to try it out
i LOVEEEEEEE this type of videos as a non-american butterfly haha, it is intriguing to see the american supermarkets haha and of course parts from your daily life 🦋
Try the Garnier Micellar water with the pink lid and use it on a reusable microfiber pad. I hold it against my eyes for about 20 seconds and gentle swipe and it removes all my eye makeup, even waterproof. I have sensitive eyes and it doesn't bother them at all.
I’ve never seen micellar water used as a cleanser before. You may have more success putting it on a silk cotton pad and holding it against your eye for a moment and then wiping the eye makeup away once’s it’s broken down. Having said that, that shit burns the skin around my eyes! 😜 I have to use a cleansing balm to get off mascara. Fun video!
I found the oil infused one the best but I've changed to bioderma h20 hydrabio because it was only €7 a huge 500ml. I've had it nearly a year and only halfway through.
I just bought the bubble moisturizer for oily skin and I wanted to love it so badly but it broke me out the two times I used it. 😭 But, I gave it my young girls because they like to do a skin care routine with me and they love it! I also wanted to say thank you for all the amazing content you make! I haven't felt confident in face until I started learning from your videos and for the first time in years my skin tone is even and I feel so much more confident. ❤️❤️
I use a scrubber on my scalp just like your gorgeous purple one. Feels amazing and it’s flexible. I’m shocked at how rigid the scrubber is is that tube!
Cassandra, for the micellar water maybe you could fact check the science behind my understanding (can't remember where I heard it from) of how micells work. I heard (or maybe read) somewhere that the micells work a specific way with cotton pads. I might be totally butchering this but I feel like it was explained that the "tails" stick up from the cotton pad to grab more stuff off of your face while the "heads" stick to the pad. Maybe they can't stick up from your fingers as well?
yes it is true, micells have 2 "faces", polar and non-polar, nonpolar faces inside and is the face that encapsulate oily stuff, while polar faces outside, normaly is facing the water but with a cotton pad, it can attach to the cotton so it works better in some cases.
Can't think of anything from Shea Moisture that I'd want on my acne-prone face but their products are all-the-things-free and they SAVED my hair. Love love love everything about that brand. 10/10.
You have wet your hair and put the scrub on your scalp only. I’m put a little bit on top. On the sides and under. I do separate blobs for each section. I don’t use the comb. I use my hands. Only on your scalp! Not on all of your hair. You emulsify it n the grains go away. It works. Buy it can be drying. So only use when you need it. No more than once a week. After the scrub I shampoo them conditioner.
@@beckyenglish4783 not at all. I use that exact one. I apply the top then sides then under then tight in the middle. Make sure you get to the scalp. I mush a blob in each spot. I will put my head in the water for a few seconds just for spreadability. I massage all the areas then I rinse. Shampoo and condition. Don’t apply to the length. When you massage it in, those scrubby things disappear. I recommend once a week if you use a lot of product and it now, every 2 weeks. It is a bit stripping so only at your scalp. I do not use the scrub teeth on the cap. My fingertips. It’s basically a clarifying shampoo accept a little disintegrating scrubbers
So I just wanted to say I tried the squalene cleanser by Boots to get my makeup off today. It's a really gentle creamy texture when you put it in your hands. And it doesn't really lather up when you add water, but it gets the make up off beautifully. In one of your videos, you said you hadn't tried it yet, but if you haven't please try it. It leaves the skin very soft and not dry and tight. I love it. It also took my brow make up off as well as my mascara. Beautifully executed video Cassandra!!! Keep being amazing!!!!
@@aahanaveeramachaneni9656 yes, recently they made a video for Allure but it's mostly a makeup routine. She started with applying two sunscreens then proceeded with makeup.
Cassandra I have been watching your videos for a few years now and since I started listening to your excellent advice my skin has cleared up, the texture has gotten way better and just overall my skin has improved so much! I love your videos and thank you so much for the amazing content and insightful advice. Your the best! sending lots of hugs through the computer :)
WAIT. WHAAAAAAT? Garnier's jumped on the cruelty-free bandwagon? This is the news of the century and how did I not know about it? "I didn't know, but Now I know" thank you Cassandra, you changed my life. Like, again. ❤️
YESSS thank you for uploaded so often and with LONG videos. You truly make my entire day when I get the notification that you've uploaded. Never stop staying true to who you are!!! xox
I work retail in the midwest, and I am asked for 3 different lotions in the winter. Bag balm, udderly smooth, and corn huskers. Those are the trifecta for keeping your hands whole in the harsh midwest winters.
Love this video style, doing a shop with me and seeing you using the products you just got! So true, want to try as soon as we buy. Love seeing both of you doing shopping trips
I remember going to Walmart the day we were going to the beach for sunscreen and we couldn’t find any good sunscreen little options I couldn’t believe at Walmart they had one shelf of sunscreen it blew my mind. 🏳️🌈
You have to use some type of cotton pad or reusable pad for the eyes. Soak the eyes with micellular about 30seconds then waterproof eye stuff comes off easy
I recently got an allergic reaction from a toner. I've been allergic to perfume my whole life and haven't had a reaction in like five years and I still missed that the fricking toner had perfume in it! Sometimes we turn and miss!
Hello cassandra i noticed you wanted to try scalp scrub. Now i don't know if my info is acuurate but this brand called yves rocher according to their website they are crullty free but i don't see it on their package (shame), not sure if they are vegan but they claim to be botanic so maybe 🤷♀️. If you'd like to look into them for yourself then they have 2 scalp sugar scrubs that do the job. The catch is they DO cantain coconut oil 😱🙊. Hope it helps
Hey Cass, I swear by that Garnier micellar water. It's super at removing even stubborn mascara. Eyeliner? Where?! But I have never used it with only my fingers! That will not take it off, only push it around. As you experienced. I use reusable cotton pads. The shit literally whisks it OFF my face. Instead of swishing it all over my face ( or into my eyeballs) I have sensitive eyes, and the only thing that I can use with just my fingers like you did, would be a cleansing balm. Or maybe a cleansing oil. Recently got the cleansing oil from UOMA By Sharon C ( also at Walmart now) it's pretty good. But girl! Cotton pads with that micellar water...no need to agressivly wash 7 times.
For my oily acne skin I use the green bioderma micellar water and than the la roche posay effaclar blue cleanser and I swear to God I just have some acne marks left and than CLEAR SKINNNN
Oh my! I would love to see you shop at TJ Maxx for their skin care. I’m always looking around and wondering if its any good. Thank you and good night.💤😴
I find the micellar water works if you put it on a reusable pad or cloth and hold it against the lashes, then gently wipe off the same way you'd put on mascara....I think we watched Lisa Eldridge do this? That gets the mascara and liner off. Once that is done, I can go in with the cleansing balm to get everything else off but I have to keep it out of my eyes, or they are irritated for hours afterwards!
I actually love the corn huskers lotion. My hands get severely dry during winter. Working in a restaurant I have to wash my hands a ton which doesn't help. That lotion is one of the only things that helps. People always think it's a liquor bottle though. 😂
Ganier is CRUELTY FREE!!!???🥳 It is always the only stuff they have at danish super markets, and I use it when I visits my parents, because it is what my mom uses, and I love how quickly it gets of my makeup! Now I can buy it!!!!!
Oh yes, please! More shop with me videos!!! Just speaking for myself, unfortunately I don't have a Trader Joe's anywhere near me...TJ MAXX has always been my true love..for everything. But honestly, I just love spending time with you...so I'll go anywhere with you. Thanks for this...I can't wait to get my hands on the Bliss Clear Genius!
pro tip for the sandy scalp issue: fill a bucket with water and submerge upside down, allowing hair to get loose, then scalp massage to remove. source: i colour my hair with henna and have to soak that mud and powder out after gunking my head up
Hi Cassandra, l suffer from extreme dark circles and white heads, especially on my nose. Could you recommend me some good products which would be able to help me? Thank you, also could we have more shop with me videos, they are so cosy and fun to watch.
I have rosacea and phenoxyethanol and I have a very complicated relationship. 90% of things with phenoxyethanol cause me to flush or go into a huge rosacea flare with pustules and papules.
Freckles need to be light I wouldn’t use black or brown and also try to blend then a little by tapping with your finger to make them not so hard also freckles aren’t really lines there dots so maybe that’s why? Just some info to maybe help! ☺️
Curious, the briogeo hair care brand has a charcoal purifying set and one of the products is grainy to me. Two different things I know but are there benefits to charcoal in skin and hair care?
