@@BasedWukong It's actually a fungal infection that radiates outward in a ring shaped rash. Not an actual worm. People get it from each other, clothing, and/or humid damp places like public lockers/showers. Monsoon season in Asia is a perfect time for the fungi spores to attach to some shipped clothing, So yeah, always wash new clothes.

I noticed that happens mostly with synthetic fibers. You should give them 2+ cycles by principle even without the smell factor though, because they also often come with excessive dye.

@@DinnerForkTongue I learned that the hard way. I have one cardigan that was so excessively dyed that it colored the rest of the wash load (purples, reds, pinks) completely berry. Took about 5 washes to get the dye out of the stained clothes. I haven't washed the cardigan again since, but I'll probably have to wash it by itself for a few times. The first time I wore it it stained my white jeans pink, which is still visible after like 10 washes. This was the first time that happened, never before did I have clothes that were so excessively dyed.

One time I bought new pants that I wore to school. The entire day I couldn’t stop smelling something rancid and I figured out that it was the pants. I washed it multiple times and they still smelled bad so I had to get rid of them because the smell was so bad
