Mark and Lisa Elkins are being forced to sell the house they’ve lived in for 15 years. They took out a mortgage with Northern Rock back in 2003.
When an American private equity firm, Cerberus, took over former Northern Rock mortgages in a £13bn deal in 2016, it told the government it was planning to offer homeowners better mortgage deals.
But the company hasn't provided any new mortgages and 65,000 homeowners are still trapped on high interest rates. Cerberus denies the allegation.

They are the most vile of scumbags, but some companies are now starting to pursue them for the agony they have inflicted on decent hard working people.

Whats outrageous is being forced to live on disability of $420 per week when my rent in my tiny unit is $325 per week. Try running a car, electricity, gas, clothing, food, medical costs, dental when absolutely necessary and a little gift for the kids at Christmas and birthdays on AU$95 per week. And I don't drink or smoke - can't afford to. But they have a huge house they can sell. They will be FINE.
