God bless you Dr. Hicks! As a college student I attended and joined this church. Motherless and Fatherless I was reared in this church. Good people. I remember Sunday dinners in the Hall. Chef Leftwich would throw down in the kitchen.
WOW! You took me back to when I was 9 or 10. I used to sneak out at night and walk to the Ebenezzar Baptist Church to listen to this kind of singing. I may have been the only white face there, but I was truly blessed - and it has stayed with me to this day almost 70 yrs later.
Although this is over 10 years old, it is still relevant today. The most profound words were it’s alright when it ain’t alright, I’m paraphrasing here.

Even so it is well with my soul!" I watch this video over and over again!!!!! It lifts my spirit and encourages and go on until the end!!!!!!

Been living abroad for ten years. I miss those days of great gospel music. Music that stirs your soul. I'm going through some things right now and this was food for my soul. Heavenly food! Spiritual food! They have one on here for Lift Every Voice and Sing and this church is anointed. Christ conquered the grave on our behalf. It is well with my soul.
Unfortunately I was never able to see him in person. He is certainly a man led by the Holy Spirit. Next time I'm in DC I will go to this church. Just to thank him for ministering to me with his song. It is well even when it's not well. Wise words Dr Hicks
I'm glad I can say today, despite everything, trials and heartaches, "It is Well with My Soul"!! I first sang this song when I was 16, as a member of The Majestic Choral Ensemble, Baltimore, MD 1967. I am now, 10/2013, 62 yrs. old, been through, and still going through rough times. But thanks be to God, It is STILL Well With My Soul!!

Oh! What a blessing to be able and have church in your own house. I ' m just having a good time singing along with the choir on my tube always thank, thank you. I hope l didn't ask for to many songs but upon getting up the spirit led to start singing some songs brought tears to my eyes but it happy tears . I wish it was some way l can have these songs on a CDs.

My mother, would be 89, today. She was born March 04, 1930. However, I lost her 7 years ago, on August 26, 2012. I never could have made it WITHOUT the Lord God Almighty! It's a little tough, today. However, I gave it all to Jesus. And it is well with my soul... That was the BEST rendition, of one of my FAVORITE Hymns. IT IS WELL WITH MY SOUL Thank you! Thanks Be To God! Debbie Ferguson.
