Same feelings here because our childhood cartoon movies at that time was one of the best amongst all and now the latest generation wont understand that those were the golden days Ojhhhh I'm crying
Once upon a time, there was a lovely princess. But she had an enchantment upon her of a fearful sort, which could only be broken by love's first kiss. She was locked away in a castle, guarded by a terrible fire-breathing dragon. Many brave knights had attempted to free her from the dreadful prison, but none prevailed. She waited in the dragon's keep, in the highest room of the tallest tower, for her true love and true love's first kiss.Like that's ever gonna happen.
Almost twenty years on and I only just found out about this song last night. When I was a kid, I never watched credits in their entirety, and whenever Shrek Aires on TV, they’d just blow right through the whole end credits in a few seconds. Last night, I find Shrek has just been added to Peacock and decided to watch it. At the end of the film, instead of turning it off, I decided to just leave it on for the songs while I went to make some digital drawings on my computer. The song came on and though I missed the intro, I took notice because I liked the lyrics, but I didn’t realize it was the theme song. And then the instrumental break at 2:12 comes on and I turn to stare at the tv like “I never knew the melody from the movie was part of a whole song with lyrics!” I love this song. It’s beautiful.
Don’t quote me on this, but I’m 90% sure that "Fairytale” was inspired by Norway's (my country🥰) 1995 Eurovision song "Nocturne” by Secret Garden. The melody is really similar and this song was released way before the first Shrek movie was ever made. So, this song is actually an inspired inspired song, haha (cuz’ this is similar to (fairytale, just with lyrics). That’s a little funny!
I am 23 now. I never watched credits in their entirety as a little kid either. I went through a Shrek phase in the mid-2000's but did not find out about this song through the first movie, but through a Littlest Pet Shop collection video from a channel I frequented in 2009 and 2010. I did not find out it was from Shrek until I was an adult one full decade later.
This song should've been in all the sequels especially the final movie. Everyone thinks "All Star" is the Shrek theme song. Yes, it is but the opening but this is the real theme song particularly the ending
Loved this song and the movie ... I just thought it was sooo sweet and beautiful then ..... 14 years later (OMG) and after all I've gone through , and now finally with my current boyfriend , this song takes on a whole new meaning. We've been friends for the longest time , I've been through so many heartaches and just now finally realized he was the one all along.
Same could be said of me. When I was in the latter half of my middle school years, I found my boyfriend that actually wanted to be with me. We started as friends, then as soon as I found out that same-sex marriages were legalized here in the states, this song played in my mind. He's the one I had loved all along...
This is the song of me and my Brea. This is our song. Dana Glover couldn't have found more perfect and powerful lyrics to describe how we feel about each other.
this is the first time I have heard this Beautiful song I have never heard of before I'm lol I'm kinda kicking myself thank you so much for sharing I really appreciate it 🎵🎼🎶🎵🎼🎶🎤 I love songs / music like this I reminds me of when I first met my husband we have been together for 20 years two sons and several grandchildren later 😏 hope everyone has a wonderful evening 🌜🌠🌟🌉🌃 t c and God bless🙏🌤🕊 from me here in Ontario 🇨🇦🙋♀️☯️☮🕊🍃🌸🍃🌸🍃🌸
Beautiful song!!!!!! If i remember this was the very last song that played on the end credits to the first shrek movie. It makes sense since it has the theme song to the film.
This song makes me think of the country I'm going to live in with my first future husband and four daughters and one son someday, Canada. When I first set foot into Canada at the age of 18 years young and coming back at 19 years old, I really loved it and said I'd rather be here than in the United States of America.
@@shadowprodify yea I love shrek 😊 my bf is English and I'm half Scottish and half Irish so I sound a bit like shrek 🤣(plus mixed Asian by race, hence my non Scottish/Irish looking face haha).
@@hleebeg lol Thats alot of mix in that pot. I can relate because i am Jamaican and our motto is "Out of many one people". I am black but i trace some lineages to Scotland hence the last name.
@@hleebeg i swear i think think the same thing because there are certain cultures that i have a connection with, whether it be music, art, animation, food, movies etc. I have found some indian lineage hence why love spicy Asiatic foods, my i like dancehall music as it has long roots in Africa due to the heavy drum beats. I love medieval movies hence that European kicking in. I loooovvvveee me some mixed women. The best of each race put in a neat thicc package😂😂😂. I dont have relations to the Japanese but i love anime whether it be gaming, movies, series, the whole shebang
Ms.AmySweetness XoX Same!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I FELL IN LOVE with the song the moment I heard it! The song is used for the Waltz in my class It is amazing
How many people associate All Star as being the "Theme Song" for Shrek? I always thought of this as being "the Theme Song". I'm pretty sure i'm not the only one, but I think most people will associate All Star with the film, rather than this, even though it literally plays twice, where as this, is played through out the film (or the melody is), in some form.
After almost a year I listened this song again... And it broke my heart... I met my ex-boyfriend at his prom and this song was played when we recognized each other the first time... And almost one year ago he broke up with me... So it stabbed right in the heart...
To My Soulmate It’s incredible how all this time I prayed to god to show me a sign of who I was supposed to be on this earth with the whole time you were right under my nose I’ve been led down the wrong path by bad people the devil has sent to me but now seeing you I know where my heart lies all along I’ve always particularly liked this song and I had now clue why I thought it’s because I grew up on Shrek or maybe because it’s a beautiful melody but now I understand every word of this song. You are my one. My only. I was made for you Baby. We were made for each other. There is no question in my mind about that. Every time you get that loving look in your eye or smile or completely act like you’ve lost your marbles haha 😂 I fall in love deeper. It’s not even falling it’s floating. The ground beneath my feet has falling and your love gives me wings. I LOVE YOU SO MUCH MY LOVE AND I JUST KNOW GOD IS WATCHING OVER US I CANT WAIT TO SEE THE YEARS AND YEARS AND YEARS OF MEMORIES WE WILL HAVE TOGETHER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A very underrated song in the entire Shrek movie, considering that it is the vocalized version of the main theme, it is especially surpassed by Smash Mouth's "I'm a Believer" as the main Shrek song.
Makes me think "Leo Da Vinci". For those who doesn't know - I'm talking about the "Leo Da Vinci: Mission Mona Lisa" movie. Really, it actually reminds me of Leo and Lisa's relationship (but I've only seen the series, so just imagine that I've only seen the trailer and clips from the movie).
