You buy the power vision from dyno jet for your bike. They have a list of tunes you can download to start tuning from. No dyno needed. BUT for high performance mods (cams and big bore for exam) auto tuning will get you most of the way, which can be good enough for most people.
@@theorthobiker Oh okay cool and much appreciated for the advice. Im going to get stage 2 done on a chief bobber and keep my new rinehart slip ons that they are coming out with this month actually. And later down the road I will switch that out with a 2 in 1 freedom combat. That's when I would like to do the tuning using auto tune. I'm all about doing work on my own so I can understand my machine better. I saw some guy put freedom exhaust without any tuning. I dont know if he's ruining his engine tho.
@@matt59fire stage 2 is a pretty significant change to the fueling of the motorcycle. I would do stage one first tune the bike then do stage 2 and tune the bike again. That's where an auto tuner is nice because you can tune it whenever you want. You can also have separate tunes for winter and summer
@@theorthobiker I've never done a performance kit as if yet. Only cosmetic and utilization. So when I get an auto tuner, do they down load the map for me at a tune shop? I'm asking this because on the dyno website they only offer the stock exhaust download for my model. For the pv3 I can do the stage 2.5 which is aftermarket intake and aftermarket exhaust. Then it says stage 3 would be after market upgraded cams. But thats for the chief darkhorse. Which I guess I can use for my cheif bobber darkhorse. I think the only difference is the front tire size.
@@matt59fire aftermarket intake and exhaust is only stage one. Stage 2 is an upgrade of the cams. Stage 3 is increasing the displacement of the motorcycle
