Seriously. I keep hearing all the time on these clips, "The Edge shouldn't be there!" or "Jimmy Page is the only talent in that room!" It's not a competition. It's a comparison of notes, if anything. Between the soundscapes of the Edge, the raw tone and simplicity of Jack White, and Page's virtuosity. Maybe they each have *gasp* their own unique reason for being there!!!
The bickering comments posted here make me embarrassed to be a guitarist quite honestly - we're in danger of all being branded as whinging adolescents. The simple fact is that all three of these guys have been hugely influential and it's surely that fact that counts. They've all developed a signature sound and/or style - a feat that all the ten-a-penny players desperately running up and down the fingerboard (I include myself in that description) won't even come close to achieving.
Jimmy can't just talk, he has to talk and take his guitar, like a child who needs his comfort blankey..smh..he just showing up a bit. I noticed anything edge or jack were taking about.. you see Jimmy look uninterested, unless his talking about himself or Zeppelin then he gets all manic😅 anyway brilliant music doc for sure. 3 great musicans. 👍🏻🎸
I'm not a fan of U2 music but watching this gave me so much respect for The Edge. I already had immense respect for Jimmy Page and Jack White because I think they are musical geniuses, but this documentary really opened my eyes to how much effort The Edge puts into his music.
It's so great to see guitarists just talking shop in an informal setting. I know that Jimmy Page had drug problems for many years but I have to say he has aged very well and he just looks great with the silver hair. He is now an elder statesman, the kind of person that you just stop and listen to because he has been there and done that. I'd love to see much more of this type of thing with other mixes of guitarists getting together to jam and talk guitar. I can't get enough of this stuff.
