Starting right off the bat with Waterfront Dining, and including the greats such as Tupperwave, Bodyline and vcr-classique-you immediately captured the mood! Spot on as always. I've been a fan since "It's sunset in 1991 and you're on AOL" and now I'm hooked.
This makes me picture myself on a long drive to somewhere warm and beautiful, cruising through a cityscape, just me enjoying life with the sun overhead and dreams in my heart. Now that I’m an adult and stepping into the “real world”, everything just seems to be getting more and more dark. We need more music like this that can make us feel carefree again 💕
This is really a masterpiece of nostalgia although I wasn't born at 1985 this reminds me to old days when we weren't so collapsed of information and technology about the cruelty of the world around...
Cruelty has always existed but back then people didn't have cellphones and social media. RU-vid didn't even exist until much later. I've been using it since 2006 but didn't have an account until later on.
At 25 minutes, this mix doesn't overstay its welcome. It's mainly consisting of general feel good songs which are pleasant, but they don't immerse you too much. But that all ends up being glorious buildup for the moment in which the guitar kicks in and ties it all together satisfyingly, and then it ends on a pleasant note too as if saying "the good days are just going to continue".

Wow so pretty, it's like going to a magical place. Never too hot or too cold, just nice and breezy. You know you're in a town so it doesn't have that creepy isolation vibe but no one is bothering you so no social anxiety. It's like a place in the movies. It's like being alone together

This is the perfect music for when you are eating breakfast ready to go to the beach, but meanwhile you are sitting at the sofa watching some tv or reading a magazine/book.
This takes me to those blissful, sun-soaked drives to our vacation destinations when I was a kid. I'd watch new cities go by with our mixtape playing and fluffy white clouds drifting along. Life is different now.

The year is 1987, August 14th, the place is a beach condo on the south side of Florida, facing the Keys, time... about 8:19am. It's a double-booking, but I am alone. Music was still unplayed on my radio's cassette player, some of the songs still too close to the heart. I thought after two years time, I'd have moved on, but I guess I was wrong. The small round stone you gave me on the beach that day sits on one side of that king-size I hadn't touched yet, having slept in the next room on the couch. The sun makes a white heaven of the skies outside above a sapphire field of sparkling water, like those jewels that were your eyes. Two years time. I light up a Mazzerucci Royale from my pack, the one I'd left hidden here last year. My hands shake a little as I inhale that smoke, the cigarettes had been in your purse that nite, when we'd driven back to get them and wound up staying over in the hospital, only one of us left the next morning. It might not ever stop hurting... but I'll know that there was love there, however brief and silly it might've seemed. It was, and it still is, and I'll never forget that time we had. I love you, Sabrina, and I always will. Five more months, and it'll be 3 years. Maybe I'll press play on that tape this year, and quit embarrassing the both of us with that dumb shyness you brought out of me.
This music and Synthwave in general has got me. I figure living in Florida near the coast has got something to do with it. Just meshed well, finally found music I really enjoy.
Dammit... I missed Miami Vice last night and forgot to tape it - now I gotta wait til summer and catch the re-run. That's OK though, I have backstage passes to the Phil Collins show tomorrow and my stocks are up in the stratosphere. If you need me, I'll be by the pool.
I remember going to Miami for the first time in 1994. I grabbed one of the property brochures and saw condos 2 blocks from beach were selling for just under $100K. At the time, I was rushing through time to finish college and thought I could never afford one...If I had only known then what I know now. I would have been able to make it work!

Although I was sitting in my room in front of my PC and listening to this, I felt like I was on my vacation, relaxing on a bench at a beautiful beach, all alone by myself, blend into the blue sky and sunshine, felt the breeze on my face, hear the sound of wave and the warmth of the sun, the feeling was so real!!!🏝 Listening to this mix help me escape the reality that pandemic is still out there, just can't stop listening to it!!!🥰
