I've only met windows XP at my childhood, the rest of them (Windows 98, 2000) have been met by my parents since they were from born on the 70's and enjoyed the 90's. I was born in 2002 in my case. PD: When I turned 10 on 2012 my gift was Windows vista (yeah a freaking notebook)

My parents have a really old computer manufactured in China, it runs Windows XP and still works, but sadly one of the chip fans are dead (still works tho).

​@@diablow1411I got a free copy from my senior at college. Later I downloaded an original copy of Windows xp SP2 from MSDN source in 2004 and SP3 one in 2008. All originals and product key also original sourced from google. I still have that in my collection.

If you had asked for 512MB, still you could get it but you could be called crazy for that.😂😂😂 64 MB was the time when people used windows 98. Most of my relatives had this configuration but still their motherboard didnt support xp. They had 815 chipset with P3.

You have the celeron processor when i was a new born baby. I am from 2008 this is where XP is widely used

Windows me was trash and windows 2000 was mostly for businesses

@@Deerhunter360 yeah, i know i just wonder why its only for that one part also cuz i have a dell dimension 4600 and it has lines going down the screen and only boots in safe mode, i attempted to reinstall windows XP multiple times with different images but all of them failed, after about 10-20 min it would completly freeze and only show lines going down the screen till u restart the computer

I know I'm a bit late but: This is a very stripped down version of Windows called the Windows Preinstallation Environment. It's used when you're installing or upgrading Windows. It's currently focusing on getting Windows set up on your computer, and having enhanced driver support and whatnot would make the installation image huge and might slow down the installation as well. WinPE doesn't really need the best graphics drivers when all it's doing is showing a progress screen and some text and images, it can install those after the Windows OS is successfully installed.

XP was really meant to run on P4 systems with 256 MB RAM. You can run it on lower configurations too but with too much frustration. It was blazing fast on Pentium D and core2duo though because of 512MB RAM.

No need to uninstall. Just wipe out the drive and install windows xp with SP3 for best experience. But hardware shouldnt be later than 3rd gen i3.

only the first release of xp can just barely run on 64MB RAM. That time new pc came with atleast 128MB RAM and mostly 256MB RAM. The last version SP3 needed atleast 256 mb to barely run.

No. It's meant to look and feel like it's 2002, but it wasn't actually recorded then.

At that time alienware PCs came with 1GB RAM and p4 extreme processors. Also the cooling system was equipped with fridge compressor.😂😂😂

I had directly slipstreamed SP2 in 2004. That made it exceedingly better than vanilla XP SP0.
